'Remote possibility' the Rams-Raiders game could be played in Indy on Monday
Gregg Doyel

If the St. Louis Rams' game against Oakland on Sunday needs to be relocated because of the tense situation in nearby Ferguson, Mo., Indianapolis would serve as the host, according to an NFL source.

The source said the league considers it a "remote possibility."

Indianapolis was chosen for its proximity. The Colts would provide infrastructure including ticket distribution, concession workers and even the sideline chain crew, but the game would be considered a league event and not a profitable opportunity for the Colts. Several concession workers have told The Star that they are on call for Monday night. Public safety officials in Indianapolis say they are prepared if the game were moved.

The Buffalo Bills moved their game with the New York Jets to Detroit last Monday due to snow. There were 67,000 tickets distributed for free with 56,044 fans attending the Bills' 38-3 victory, according to media reports. The Bills provided full refunds to all ticket holders, with approximately 12,000 season-ticket holders attending the game.

You would think Los Angeles might be a better venue given the two teams involved.

I do not understand why MSHAA is so damned in love with the dome anyways. The place is a dump. They should definitely be rotating the venue to begin with. I really can't believe they haven't changed the venues considering the unrest over there this year though.

A rare week where I actually root for the Rams, regardless of where the game is.

There's a difference in being a dump-what the Oakland Coliseum is- vs being an unspectacular stadium.
