Yeah, that win today took us from playing Miami and Jacksonville to the Bills/Texans. At least we get the Bills at home next year.

NJChiefsFan
12-28-2014, 06:46 PM
On paper that really doesn't look that terrible. You really never know who is going to be good or who will be injured at the time you play them. This year is a great example where we played NE and SEA at the right time for us and wrong time for them.

Cause when Chiefs finish 2nd , 3rd or 4th in the West the Bills do the same in the East.

Why do we always play the Bills?

Because both franchises end up finishing in the same position in their division each year. If we were a better franchise we would see NE all the time instead.

Well, some years we are actually scheduled to play the Bills division. The other years we happen to be paired with that division and we've finished in the same place.

So basically, as long as the Chiefs play the Bills every year, we can use that as a barometer for our suck.

Eight years in a row now, including 2015... Chiefs were first in 2010 and 2nd in 2013, vs the Bills' 4th place finish both years, but they just happened to play the AFCE in 2011 and this year. They're guaranteed to play again in 2017, so there's still hope for 2016...

**** you.

Thanks to those who actually explained it.

Once you see it written out in full, it's pretty easy. I think they may be adjusting how it's done, but for now and in the recent past you always

play 6 division games

play an entire division from the AFC(rotates evenly every year)

play an entire division from the NFC(rotates evenly every year)

of the two remaining AFC divisions, you play the team that finished in the same place in their division that you did.

That gives you 16 games. For the past 10 years or so it's been like this and you have been able to project the schedule out, save for the two teams. I do think it's changing, or at least the division rotation is.

Looks like yet another season in which the Chiefs win 7-9 games, fans come out in droves because "we're in this!" and the Chiefs never have a team capable of actually making a run in the playoffs.

Yay! Maybe we'll slip into Round 1 at 9-7 again and get swamped by the Colts or Steelers on the road. That's always a fun and rewarding way to end a season!

The last time they didn't play the Bills was 2007... and they would have, but the Broncos lost that game against the 49ers at the end of the 2006 season, which gave the Chiefs the tiebreaker for 2nd place (Bills finished 3rd).

It will be next year. So because of that we've only played New England, the Jets and Miami 3 times in that period because of it. You'd have to go back to the 90's to find our last 8 games against some of those teams.

Alex Smith has turned the corner!

This defense is so good, all Alex needs to do is not **** up, take advantage of field position, and get the ball to the RBs!

The WRs and OL are terrible!

Denver is going to fall off as soon as Manning retires!

Philip Rivers sucks, Alex Smith is better!

In August of 2015 I predict a steady, solid pushing of the shit with precise tapering, and that Chiefs will go to camp with a draft class that will make everyone except GoogleGoogle vomit.

They'll be another year in the same system with a full swath of draft picks and free agency to go.

This was the year to regress. Next year is the year they should compete for the division

It's Discuss Thrower. The Chiefs are 3 years away from a playoff game even though the NFL is full of one year turnarounds every season. The Royals got lucky, and he is never going to have a date because he is a hideous beast-like creature.

this year's issues are easily fixable. even in our losses we were in it at the end save 1 game. most of it comes down to play calling, hanging onto the ball and making some better reads by the QB.

Tbh as pissed as I am about this year, I think we challenge for a WC spot next year.

Oakland won't beat us. 2 wins there
1-1 against Denver. 1 win
2-0 against bills and texans is very possible
1-1 at worst against SD
4 more wins from our other games is all but guaranteed.

I do hope after the fuck job we got this year and giving up a home game next year we get a more favorable home\away rotation. This year was rather fucked up starting off playing 4 of our first 6 on the road and only have back-back home games once as opposed to back-back road games twice.

Still boils my ass that we waste a home game playing in London. I hope Chunt got something good for kissing Goodel's ass on that one.

Denver L
Oakland should win
San Diego should win-they have too much to build
Cleveland should win-they have no QB at all
Pittsburgh L
Chicago should win-starting all over with a new QB
Detroit L
Buffalo should win-at home and they are starting all over. New QB

Away

Denver L
Oakland should win
San Diego should win
Baltimore L
Cincinnati L
Green Bay L
Minnesota should win but toss up
Houston should win unless they suddenly get a QB

Looks about like 9-7 with the current squad. Hopefully we upgrade and win 10 or 11.

That was a fluke... and again, I'd much rather have the home games LATE... and again would imply it happens regularly, that was a first. Denver had 6 of their last 9 on the road - you're not bitching about that, right? And, KC had 6 of their final 10 at home ... the NFL loves KC.

KC and Den each had 4 out of the first 7 at home the two years before this one.

9-7 with losses to every single good team we'll face. Yes. That is a Chiefs-like season right there.

I'd probably notch in a win @ Green Bay and against Pitt then throw a couple random Ls against Minnesota and Buffalo. Wouldn't be a Chiefs year if we didn't win a couple games we had business being in then blowing it against bottom of the barrel, shitbag teams like the Raiders.
