Most new country really is awful, its all been homogenized and neutered.

Its basically just pop music these days.

I'm not a fan of most shit coming out of Nashville these days. But there is good country out there, you just have to work at it.

True, Nashville in general is too interested in merging country and pop.

That's impressive. Some serious talent in Nashville.

She auditioned for Taylor Swift's producer and the head if Disney last winter. Then suddenly decided not to go to college when she up and moved to Nashville immediately after graduation. She's been very hush about the matter, except that she is recording.

She's always written her own material since she was young. She's very talented.

Chase that dream. I had a friend, who was the best guitar player I had ever heard, who went to Nashville. They ate his lunch.

Bullshit. I've criticized country music a shitload and my tastes are well documented here.

The ONLY good music out there that is what country should be is labeled Red Dirt.

Jason Boland and the Stragglers
Turnpike Troubadours
Dirty River Boys
Sturgil Simpson
Jason Eady
Cody Canada
Hellbound Glory....they broke up recently but the music is good
Wade Bowen
Pat Green
Stoney Larue
Wreckless Kelly

There are A LOT of good choices and most of them are GREAT live.

You guys talking about country radio being all pop music like this is 8 years ago. The country radio format isn't sitty pop any longer, it's shitty rock.

This man speaks the truth. However it is dorogatory to rock music to classify it as such, even with the qualifier. I choose to call it talentless trash. Out of respect for rock, of course.

If I received a handy in a porta-potty at a Kenny Chesney concert, I'd probably just keep that one to myself.

It's okay to enjoy the simpler things in life. Country music, missionary position, McDonald's apple pie and plastic ice cube trays all have their place in this world.

All Musical tastes are subjective. I was definitely a music snob as a kid, not so much anymore. I like what I like. Everyone else can do the same. I'll always connect with rush fans though. Just due to them being so underrated in my childhood.

Ahh the so called Pop Country. You mean like Johnny Cash was. Then Glen Campbell was. Then John Denver. Kenny Rogers wasn't country. Alabama is a Lynyrd Skynyrd knock off, they aren't country. Then Garth. Then Tim McGraw. Kenny Chesney.

Shocking that music keeps involving.

I don't mind Florida Georgia Line. I also like all kinds of country music from traditional to red dirt to bluegrass to southern rock types. I just hate people pigeon holing a genre that has many different kinds.

I was jesting.

There is no "best" band. For me there are a few:

Led Zeppelin
Korn
Radiohead
My Morning Jacket
Honorable mention to The Verve
Beatles in another class

Huge Rush fan though. Specifically Lifeson.

Subjective.
