This is probably true. Denver's entire OL refused to speak to the media during the 90s, and it was viewed as a funny quirk.

Thats been a tradition on the O-line for a long time. You dont open your mouth you let your play do the talking.

This is going the wayside now. The first I really seen a O-lineman be outspoken was Brian Waters of the Chiefs but not till after Will Shields retired. After Will retired he couldn't shut his trap. But his play made up for it he could back it up.
