I tried to convince my dad to let us trick-or-treat across the street and just forget about all the houses on our block, but that was too much of an inconvenience for him.

So every Halloween about 10% of my stash was made up of those disgusting pieces of crap. My friends and I used to take a couple wafers, shove them in a film canister with some water, add alka selzer, put the cap on and rest the canister upside down. Instant rocket, and it would explode the wafers everywhere.

The rest were thrown in the garbage. None of our parents wanted them, and we sure as fuck didn't.

Last time ever in a Stuckeys, stopped at probably 4 of them on a car trip to Disneyland in 1976. We kept stopping there because the first one gave me a hot chocolate with as much whipped cream on top as there was cocoa in the cup.
