Gore isn't bad, but he's not a fit in that offense. Your offense is supposed to be based around speed and now you sign a 32 year old guy to be your starting RB?

He's a great receiver out of the backfield and a good pass blocker. I imagine he'll be splitting time back there.

Sarcasm, mixed with a little frustration. Was just a joke, especially considering offseason hasn't truly started til free agency begins. At least to me.

Great is an overstatement. He hasn't had more than 30 receptions in 4 seasons. LeSean Mccoy on the other hand has only had one season under 40 receptions.

He's not the prototypical back for that offense but he's easily the most underrated RB of this millennium.

He's tough as shit, too. He might add an element to their offense that they were lacking with that soft ass bitch McCoy and Sproles.

Ok, "solid".

I think this was a case of McCoy just wanting the hell out of Philly and Gore wanting the hell out of San Fran. I'd say Philly got a lateral move at best with Gore. And Like I said, I don't think he's going to take on a featured back kind of role with them.

He should do better than McCoy. Since he was on my fantasy team I watched that mother fucker try to run laterally non-stop and get tackled.

One thing about what the Eagles are doing in general -- seems to be a reallocation of $$ resources from offense to defense. Could be that Chip believes his system doesn't require very expensive talent on offense to go, and he'd rather spend the money on defense.

Ten years of pretty consistent work, entering his 11th season... yeah, he's a nice add in the right offense, but he's not 'the guy'. Great mix up, change of pace weapon, but ... not 'the guy' at this point.

His production has been strong and he's a solid player, but moving to a new team, new system --- he's part of a system at this point.

You hear this rationale given pretty much every single time a guy is signed on the wrong side of 30.

How often does it actually work out that way?

Gore isn't any kind of solution for them, IMO. He's a power back but still needs a bit of a hole or at least some room to get started. The problem is that guys were just knifing into the Colts backfield all year. Not even Gore can deal with that; you need someone with some shiftyness that can threaten to get the corner if you attack too hard upfield.

If Gordon manages to fall to us at 18, I wonder what kind of return we could get to move down to their spot in the first? I wouldn't take a 3rd from them as they're too far down but I'd consider taking their 2nd.

That would actually be a worthwhile move for Indy. Then again, they may be unwilling to part with any draft capital given the fact that they'll need to have a BUNCH of cheap players on that roster to make up for the $25 million they're going to be paying Luck soon.

Normally I'd agree with you. Gore has never been super fast. What he had always been is great with his feet, and his vision has always been second to no one. He also is great in the pep Hamilton offense as It is the Jim Harbaugh offense.

Cole, Gore, Kendall Langford, Todd Herremans and Andre Johnson is visiting right now. Supposedly, he and Gore took the same flight to Indy. Hopefully, he signs today. Unless Irsay lowballs him or something stupid like that.

The good thing is, these are all deals that are voidable after 2 years, which is when Lucks new deal is due. Apparently they're making a run in that timeframe.
