View Full Version : Chiefs Call your shot: what happens to Bowe today?

Direckshun

Bowe was ****EXPECTED**** to be released yesterday ... but he was not!

DUN

DUNNNN

DUNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN

Are the Chiefs still going to cut him?

Did he miraculously compromise on his cap hit at the 11th hour?

Did the Raiders entice with a trade offer?

Call your shot. Get it right, and our very own billay will tongue bathe your taint.

Poll forthcoming.

From a pure business point of view, if you have the cap room you hold him until the market dries up. Then you offer him half. If he doesn't accept you cut him loose and hope half is better than any other offer he receives at that time.

That's just being an asshole.

I hope he renegotiates and stays. Maclin at least won't be awful across from him (like every other fucking douchenozzle we've ran out there since his motherfucking rookie year), and he can contribute if Alex isn't dead on the turf.

If he's got to go, I hope we rape the fuck out of someone with one (or many) draft pick(s) that's NOT the Faid, Donks, Dolts.

I don't know, at this point I think the 11 million in cap savings is worth more to us that having him here. So my question is can we cut him and resign him? Is that allowed? And would he ever do it?

They cut him in June. Where's that option?

Nothing happens today. They're still trying to either renegotiate or trade.

if they trade him, we eat the bonus right?

i guess i'm wondering how palatable his contract is to another team in a trade...i could see us getting maybe a 5th

but it would seem they're trying to restructure him, guess it's up to bowe

Thought he was getting cut. Went out and smoked a ton of dope. Chiefs called him and told him they wanted him to stay. Asked him to take a drug test as part of re-negotiating his contract. Failed test. Went out and bought more dope. Chiefs.

It cost him MILLIONS for committing a minor infraction.

I'm betting he restructures and remains a Chief.

Did we let Avant get away or not ?

Maclin , Bowe ,Avant, DAT and Wilson would be nice to start the season with.

Then we can draft OL in the 1st and pickup Hardy or Funchess in Rd 2

750k is just his base salary. The pro-rated portion of his signing bonus will also count against the cap.

No reason for anyone to trade for a player who will be a FA in hours. No reason for Bowe to renegotiate when someone out there will overpay him. No reason for Chiefs fans to care since WR1 has been upgraded already this offseason.

ViperVisor
03-12-2015, 08:12 AM
Back at a lower amount would be good, I guess that is what they are haggling with his reps to look for a $ both can agree on.

Problem with WRs wasn't Bowe. He was productive.
Problem is you can't afford to complement what he brings with a gaggle of garbage.

These guys added up to 1 more passing target than Bowe
Donnie Avery
Jason Avant
Junior Hemingway
A.J. Jenkins
Frankie Hammond

But 180 less yards and 10 less 1st Down catches

Swap Maclin for Bowe and turn that cobbled together mess into Bowe... You are on to something.

I'm all for reducing his salary and bringing him back. That said, I still grab a WR in the first, if one of the top 5 prospects is still available, regardless if he's back or not. He's on the downside of his career and we need to prepare for the future.

It's called a "hunch".

And I am not sure it would be good if I was wrong. Sometimes it's better in these situations to just let it go. Bowe may think he is cool with it now but based on his past I would think at some point it would become a mental distraction for him.

If he had an ego problem I think there would have been many chances for him to 'blow up' to the media this past season. He seems to be pretty humble in all the interviews I heard.

That's now. He wants a deal. He has to be humble to a point if wants to get anywhere at all.

I change my mind.

Why in the hell would Bowe want to stay on a team when he will be the 3rd/4th option behind Maclin, Kelce, and Jamaal?

His value will actually go down from this point, especially with the WR killer at center. He needs to GTFO right now to salvage what future earnings are out there.

If Dorsey were somehow able to get Bowe to come back at half what he was making before as some people here are suggesting he should, they should start casting a statue of Dorsey to put outside of arrowhead.

I'm thinking Dorsey is trying to hold on to him for as long as possible because he knows that Bowe will wind up in the division once cut. If the Chargers were looking to sign Andre Johnson, my guess is that they will pursue Bowe. Flowers is probably already talking to him...

Not sure it'll happen today, but I believe Bowe will be cut. WAY too expensive given his production. In fact, I believe I pretty much proved yesterday (well, maybe not totally proved, but you get my drift) that Jason Avant was pretty much as productive last year as was DBowe......and that's not saying much.

Sadly, I think DBowe simply got too comfortable when he inked the huge contract. Prior to that, he was one of my faves.

IIRC his salary number I’m not even sure ½ would do it, would need more like 1/3 of what it was.
In order to stick around Bowe needs to accept Avery’s old salary cause they just gave Maclin his.
