Corned beef, cabbage, boiling potatoes, carrots and my Aunt's homemade dinner rolls,I can't wait absolutely love this meal and yet only have it once a year.

Biggest challenge is how much cabbage to eat as I have to board a plane a few hours after :fart:

Love Corned Beef. Not a fan of cooked cabbage, unless it's in an eggroll. Love Cole Slaw.

If the cabbage is done right, it's fantastic. Problem is, most people treat that shit like sauerkraut, and THAT AIN'T IT.

Oh shit, that is my favorite comfort food of all time. My mom makes it with barley, celery, carrots, and onions. That meat and melting collagen just falls off those little bones. fft, fft, fft.

Get a pressure cooker.

Pressure cookers soften everything, renders the fat, and melds the flavors without making a sodden mush.

Plus, you're done in like 20 minutes.

No shit, 5 minutes to quarter the cabbage, onion and potato, and slice the carrots, put it all in the pot, add water, and 20 minutes on the stove [well a little more, 20 minutes after everything heats up and the pressure valve engages, maybe 25-27] gets you this.

Have you seen that Power Pressure Cooker on TV? I'm wondering if that thing works. I really want it.

Saw one at Target. Would be interesting if I didn't already have the separate things it does.

Kind of 50/50. Nice not to have so many machines around, but if that one fails you lose all of that capability again at once.

You've probably just had it poorly made. I know I have at times.

The way I make it is heavenly.

Another key is VIENNA BEEF CORNED BEEF. Only buy the best.

i wonder if you have to show an ID for pressure cookers now

my condolences, could be worse. I once had it where it was practically stewlike.

Just a glop of salty meat in a thick broth. The veggies were practically Vitamixed.

That's the worst I can remember, but it was being sold by a church and bought for us by my employer, so I had to take a few bites and smile.

I'm neither Irish nor Catholic. Therefore, I am offended and feel threatened by this holiday and demand that it no longer be celebrated.

You should join me in protest of this imposed holiday by eating tacos for lunch.

I recommend tacos de tripas for you. You seem like you'd enjoy them.

Close, It was very thick gelatinous cabbage broth on a hunk of strongly salted piece of leather. The Cabbage was cut like kraut but was like consistency of sauteed onions.
