What's the cap hit going to be? I know that depends on structure but we should have a pretty good idea shouldn't we?

Don't care since they changed the rookie contracts

Why does it matter and why worry about it? It won't be that much relatively speaking compared to what it used to cost and it should be pretty simple with the new slotting system. Not trying to be a dick, just don't see why one would care about this.

I think around $1.6 mil against the cap.

So it's insignificant. Gosh if Danny Shelton slips to #18 I'd have to pound the table. We need a backup NT and with Shelton we can also move Poe over to DE on some downs and maybe have a special defense. It would also give us a fall back incase Poe becomes to expensive to retain when his current contract expires.

Probably too much, better draft a fullback

Fan base beats table for backup nose guard in first round.

I'm fucking sick and tired of drafting to replace departing talent that is still performing at a high level. Fuck that. Dorsey has done good this offseason but he needs to start doing a better job at retaining key talent well before they hit the open market. Drafting to replace an aging veteran is one thing. Drafting to replace a departing young talent is spinning your wheels and refusing to get better.

So in other words, drafting a nose tackle in case Poe walks would be a shit move.

That's important but I think we really need to focus on Colquitt's replacement in the first tbh. Backup NT can come in the second.

Calvin Pryor S was drafted #18 overall. His contract is 4 years for a total of $8.5M
CJ Mosley was drafted #17 overall. His contract is 4 years for $8.7M
Ju'Wuan James OL #19 overall. His contract was 4 years for $8.4M

With the slotting and a predetermined increase, don't know the exact percentage but thinking it was 12, from year to year.

Either way his cap number will be low, but the entire contract is fully guaranteed.

It all depends on who's still available. Parker makes it to #18 he'd be my guy but in the end it's about the BPA and what you can do with it. Or I guess we could just draft one guy in each round for a position of need and they will all hit and our team will be fixed.

With the new CBA teams just don't have to force their 1st round picks onto the field and it can allow for a little creativity too. I guess we should just draft an OC and plug him in. That'll get us over the hump!
