Trade down a few spots and at the very least pick up a 4th rd pick to make up for the gap from pick 4 to those comp picks late in the 5th round.

1. DE Eli Harold
2. CB PJ Williams
3. WR Justin Hardy
3. OT Ty Sambralio
4. RB Jeremy Langford
4. FS Adrian Amos
5. WR Stefon Diggs
5. ILB Zach Vigil
6. CB Damion Swann
6. C Max Garcia
7. TE Casey Pierce

We need 2 ILB. DJ is a huge question mark and done after this season. Mauga is nothing more than a backup.

I expect a WTF pick or two as we're used to. Guys like Turk McBride and Dexter McCluster were turds to begin with and every fan with an ounce of football knowledge knew that yet the Chiefs drafted them anyways.

I have come to expect that from the Chiefs.

If not, then probably Malcom Brown or Erek Flowers/Andrus Peat.

I hope not. I don't want a receiver who is a "slot candidate". We already have one with Albert Wilson. We need an outside receiver.

Uh, have you taken a good ****ing look at the receiver corp lately? apparently not.

Sean Smith is almost certainly gone in 2016, Gaines looked good but has plenty to prove, who knows what will happen with Cooper... oh and by the way, Owens is gone so who's playing the slot?

Other than that, yeah... we're all set at corner.

Maclin, Avant, Wilson are our top 3 current receivers. Drafting one to replace Avant with is a good idea. Beyond that it is not necessary for they will not see the field if they ever contribute.
Why is Smith gone after this season? Gaines has shown flashes. I imagine we will resign S. Smith. Owens wasn't all that. He shouldn't be that hard to replace. We did have a pretty good secondary last year. I don't see where it is necessary in any way to invest 2 picks there either.
1 solid pick at WR and CB is all that either position group needs this off-season.

Maclin, our best rookie, Wilson, Avant... you're really comfortable with Avant as the #4?

I'm sure not, I'd like to push him down to 5 if at all possible, maybe even push him out if Hammond or Hemingway decide they want to be players.

Yeah, lets get another rookie to add some juice to the bottom of this receiver corp.

Avant is our current #2. Even if we draft a WR at 18 I would expect that Avant would still start the season as the #2. Hopefully at some point during the season the rook would take his place.
Avant and Smith had some chemistry after we got Avant in the middle of the season.

jonzie, I think I'd stay away from Armsted. Great measurables, but poor production. Also, as per the Gruden/Kiper discussion last night, Gruden didn't care for Armstead.......at all (not that Gruden's the end-all/be-all).

A couple of other corners he was not wild about were Tres Waynes and Kevin Johnson! He said that it looked to him like they could not/did not want to tackle RBs. Kiper challenged him that they were excellent cover guys, but Gruden said that if you can't/won't play the run, the NFL will make you pay. Interesting.

This is actually untrue.

He signed with Carolina and was cut because he questioned their questionable play calling. Once he was free, the Chiefs offered the biggest contract, so he signed with KC.

That said, I'd just as soon see him off the roster. He's old and slow, which is not a good combination for a starting WR in the NFL.

Dane, I agree that he's old and slow, but even with that, I thought he was a pretty productive player for us the last few games. Might still have a bit left in the tank, plus as I understand it, he's the ultimate professional as far as preparation goes. I think the current WR that has to worry is Frankie Hammond. To me, he offers much less than Avant.

Nonetheless, we definitely need to do more for our WR corps than simply add Maclin. Personally, I'd like to see us get Perriman at 18 as he really looks explosive (when/if he catches the ball). What's your take on him?

Dane, Dane, Dane, Let's not split hairs. Not measuring up can imply many things. The point still stands, that the Panthers found him expendable for what ever reason and we latched on to him because our roster is devoid of talent at the WR position.

Here's my narrowed down list of who I think the Chiefs will draft in round 1:

Phillip Dorsett - You can't teach world class speed that translates to the field.
Nelson Agholor - Electric when he has the ball in his hands.
Byron Jones - World class athleticism that could be moulded
Marcus Peters - Shut down corner with aggression (maybe too much)
Jake Fisher - Athletic tackle that could translate to either end
D.J. Humphries - Same as with Fisher
