View Full Version : Home and Auto Car people! Have a suspension question...

Ok I am pretty good with cars but suspension issues are a mystery to me. Just got a call from an ex who hit a pothole going (what she claims) 5 mph or so while turning. Now her left front tire is almost against the body of her Honda CRV.

Off the top of your heads, what do you think has broken, bent or gotten pushed out of place?

I have attached a pic of the good side and the bad side.

Tie rods might be bent

The up and down short bar is bent in the pic on the right

Technical term unknown

Looks like the bolt is about to snap off

Looks to me that the sway arm tie rod is bent or broken?

Look where the rust is popped.

That's what is bent.

At the bar and on my phone so the pics suck.

I could look at them in the am and let you know

I think lower piece the strut mounts in and lower control arm and outer tie rod.

If it was me I would just get a knee assembly and an alignment and be done with it

Take it to a dealer or a place the does tires/suspension and have them look. I don't think I would drive it very far or fast. Towing might be a better alternative if insurance covers it.

The sway bar link looks like that because something else is bent guys.

Huge thanks to everyone especially JASONSAUTO! Got her sorted out and it's already completely repaired and back on the road. (God help the people of south Texas)
