He is entitled to his opinion, regardless of how he chooses to defend it.

And, with the fact that 1/3 of rosters are made up of UDFA, as reported by ESPN and presented here as a thread, he could be right.

What we know is that NFL GMs didn't value Dismukes as highly Morse.

What we also know is that the draft is a crapshoot.

didn't know anything about him until reading your post, my god that guy is a freak of nature.

Representatives from seven NFL teams showed up at the workout: the Chicago Bears, Dallas Cowboys, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, New York Giants, Oakland Raiders and Seattle Seahawks.

Irving (6-foot-7 3/4, 273 pounds) ran the 40-yard dash in 4.84 seconds on both attempts; he posted a 1.69-second 10-yard split, which is very good. He had a 38-inch vertical jump and a 10-foot-8 broad jump. He did the 20-yard short shuttle in 4.53 seconds and the three-cone drill in 7.27 seconds.

Irving has an 87 3/4-inch wingspan, and they say he can tie his shoes while standing up. He had a good workout, went through some bag drills, and is a potential sleeper prospect in the 2015 NFL Draft class. What happens with Irving is an interesting scenario in this draft due to the off-the-field issues that kept him from playing at Iowa State last season.

87 3/4" wingspan... thats the longest i've ever heard of

His agent fucking sucks. Should've never let it out that he wasn't going to sign if he got drafted in rounds 4 or later. This. It's ****ing ridiculous eh?

The NFL no doubt deserved a good kick in the ass last year, but this would be taking it way too far. It's not like spending a draft pick on a guy with the hopes that he'll get the OJ Simpson treatment in court. Basically, the reports were, "Collins didn't do it; we want to talk to him so we can get evidence in the case and also so we can confirm to everybody that it wasn't him."

That's enough for me to probably let him fall out of the first, and maybe the 2nd, but if I have a great need at OT, he has a far better chance of being confirmed innocent than a lot of 3rd round tackles have at "getting it together" and turning into great pro players.

If he were guilty, I'm sure teams were frightened of the backlash again of, "NFL is ruthless and doesn't care about women who get murdered blah blah this guy was a suspect and teams drafted him anyway because they're unethical yadda yadda."

That's when this whole, "I have a right to not be offended by large entertainment industries" mentality needs to fucking get raped to death and covered up by the police. Because right now it's wearing the wrong clothing and totally asking for it.

Quite a few guys we signed post-draft. I'm failing to recognize too many of these names though. I don't suppose there's a Tyler Bray or a Albert Wilson type we can get excited about this year?

Never watched any tape on this guy he reminds me of the TE from SF Vernon Davis, they did some digging around for TEs as well as other teams lots of small school findings.

No, you can't pay him like a first round pick.

I guess he could sign with a cfl team and get a better contract for a year or so then come to the nfl as a free agent

Yeah. If anything, I think this list may be a little bit smaller than the last couple years. But, the list will keep growing for several days I would guess.

[David Irving Video]

Damn.. dude is huge too.. 6'7" 273 pounds at last check.

Some baggage (again) and was dismissed from the team all last year. But, definitely has upside. Will be interesting to see if he can make the team or the PS.

From those three plays, I thought we would project as an OLB, but maybe it is DE in our scheme. He seems so much lighter than he is due to his 6'7" frame.

You can't play like a twig as an OLB. You need some size, but that's almost too much.

He needs to pack on weight and play at 290/300. That's where he's going to go. DE.

We all know--The chances of any of the UDFA making the team is slim.

54 slots and about 6 on the practice team
of that 54-around 35 are under contract.

Whaaaaaaaaaat? Really? They're really sticking it to him for some reason. I knew this was going to bite him in the ass.
He'll be fine- he can sign a contract worth no more than the top 41 players drafted, but can become a free agent after 2 years versus the minimum 3 years for drafted rookies, and he gets to sign with the team of his choice.

Jesus, that guy went undrafted?
He's a 3rd down / passing down guy if he's gonna play the interior. They could very well kick him outside on other downs if he's capable. I have no idea how the kid is in space and can he prevent getting sealed on the edge or outside to in discipline.

Still, for an UDFA, he is at least going to be interesting if they have some ideas in mind for how to exploit his talents.

Irvine is a steal. 1. Had he played this year ISU would have been better. 2. He got kicked off the team because ripped a stop sign out of the ground. ISU's Veishea week gets out of hand every year, the event no longer takes place. 3. Paul Rhodes will do anything to save his job. So he cut the kid over the incident. (stupid). 4. Had he actually played and been on a better team he would have been a mid round draft pick IMO.

http://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/sports/college/iowa-state/isu-football/2014/04/12/david-irving-dimissed-cyclones-football-team/7652775/

But he also was charged for domestic assault in 2013. So we really need to keep his head screwed on right.

I kind of expected them to draft a late round RB, someone to push Gray on the roster and maybe get used like they (briefly) did McKnight last year. However, they didn't draft any and, so far, they haven't brought in any as UDFA. I guess they feel like they are set at RB.

Ty Zimmerman, safety: Kansas City Chiefs

A three-year starter in the secondary, Zimmerman led the Beavers with 91 tackles in 2014 and added three interceptions, two pass breakups, one sack and one quarterback hurry. He joins college teammates Nelson and Alexander in Kansas City.

Since those are the only RBs on the roster, other than some scrub named Spencer Ware, that's a pretty safe bet. :)

Irving will make a nice 3-4 DE. He came to Iowa State as a DE then was moved to DT pretty quickly. Idk how he didn't block any FG's either, he'd be in the middle of the line and he just jump with his hands up and almost swatted several.
