what the hell is everyone waiting on? I guess I'll try my luck with my first GDT of the year, trying to get us out of a 2-game funk following an off-day. Let's sweep these pecker gnats.

Is Holland going to be activated? I'm not seeing much news out on twitter about the Royals today...

us:

Gordon 7
Moose 5
Morales DH
Hosmer 3
Perez 2
Infante 4

I'm pretty sure he'll be batting left handed against Salazar.

I'm pretty sure he'll be batting left handed against Salazar.

It's not going against the L-R strategy, though, because it does not give the matchup advantage in late innings.

If the Indians brings in a lefty to face Gordon and Moustakas, Morales flips around and hits RH.

That's what the LR thing is all about... so a team can't burn through 3-4 lefties in a row with a LOOGY.

if I were the Royals manager ... I'd never send Guts/Vargas out in the 7th with a 1 run lead ... I'd give them a baserunner 50/50 depending on pitch count on bullpen fatigue in a 2 run game

In a 1 run game and in the 6th inning, 1 baserunner as well

in 3 run games they can pitch as long as they can go as long as they don't get into danger

I think six innings is kind of the top-end goal for those guys if you're being smart... unless the pitch count is super low and they've only been through the lineup two times, then maybe I can see giving them the 7th.

My dad had a bottle of Patron Platinum in his cabinet when I was in high school and some friends and I drank the majority of it my senior year and replaced the empty space with water.

About 2 Christmases ago, my dad decided to reach into the cabinet and pass out shots. It was the same Patron bottle from high school. That was 12 years ago. His reaction? "This Patron tastes like shit! It's become watered down and diluted or something!"

He has slipped on his secondary pitches over the past few years... had a very good changeup in 2012, and seems to have lost some of the fade on that pitch since going down to the minors in 2013 to work on it (he was tipping it during that period where he turned into a gasoline can).

He has/had a good curveball at one time, but it's hard to maintain that pitching out of the pen and relying so much on his heater.

The better choice is always to put your best guy in CF. It's a more important position.

I don't think there's anything more than a marginal difference in arm strength between the two, and honestly, Dyson might have a little better arm.

It's not like Dyson can't read the ball off the bat out there. He has played there this season and been fine judging things.

Cain reads balls off the bat better. CF is an easy position in that regard because the ball doesn't have much side spin on it.
