Every three or four weeks. Depends on the season. If I go a month in summer I'll be a sweaty, shaggy beast by the time I get in there.

My hair grows at a stupid fast rate. I get the shit cut short and it's a thick, wild fro-bush by six weeks.

Usually anywhere from 4-8 weeks, most likely 5-6 but sometimes time just goes so fast I forget how long its been since a haircut.

I should get it cut every 3 weeks but I usually wait about 5 ...

I've had the same haircut since I was 5 years old and it should be the easiest haircut in the books (3 on the sides, a little off the top) ...

you'd be amazed on how many fucking people fuck it up ... it's simply shocking. So I HAVE to go to THE ONE PLACE that is constantly busy with hour long waits and the haircut is $19 ($25 after tip). So yeah, I try and wait 5 weeks.

The past few days I have been dedicated to getting a haircut. I usually get one every weekend because it makes me feel good. Haven't had a haircut though for about six weeks because I just got back in town a month ago and haven't had a clue who to trust to cut it.

Yesterday I go to this place I used to go to, kind of a back alleyway barber shop and I find out my old barber died a year ago from a kidney infection. The new guys in there were butchering heads as far as I could see, so I say **** it, I'm going to great clips. Only fourteen dollars. I walk in and I watch this fat lady give a nearly identical cut to what I want and she did it perfect. I then decide she shall be cutting my hair.

That's when this 9 walks up to the counter and asks me if I am next. She's so perfect, sexy, short, beautiful smile... The works. And I recognize her from high school, can't really put a full name to that memory, but she was bad then, too. So, now I've decided she is going to cut my hair. Well, she then proceeds to do a horrible job and absolutely butchers it. I was too busy sitting there flirting and laughing with her to say anything, and at the end when she was done I looked in the mirror and all I could think was, "****! She did awful. The face is all wrong. But she's so pretty. I should give her a tip."

Now I'm sitting here feeling and looking stupid.

Briefly, I used a disposable razor with shave cream, but that was just too messy and a nuisance.

There were a few times when I was lazy and I just buzzed my hair with the clippers I use on our dogs, because I just don't give a fuck, but usually about once every two months. That's too long for me to go, because my hair is fine and just falls into a static-y mess once it gets past a certain length, so I've been trying to get back to once a month.

I've never gone more than 4.5 months. I used to get it done every three weeks.

#4 on the sides, finger length on top with texturizing shears.

I was 16 or 17. My dad used to cut my hair. One day he said "you can cut your own hair now". I've been doing it myself ever since.

I used to just get a buzz cut with the lowest guard available but after almost ten years of cutting it myself, I've learned how to cut my hair into different hairstyles.

Just thinking about all the money I've saved in that time makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

And I thought I was weird for doing this...

I break out with scalp acne if I use a razor. I've been using an electric for about 3 weeks now, shaving 3 times a week roughly, and my scalp has totally cleared and no more breakouts. It's not AS smooth as a blade, but it's pretty smooth. I actually just bought a better razor because the one I had was not very good, but it proved that I could fully shave.

Before that, I was using a trimmer with no guard, which was the best I could do.

Probably about 42, 43, can't remember exactly.

You guys who get the wives to do it: is it a turn on? It was for me a hundred years ago when I was married. Most times it became a race to finish the haircut because I was trying to pull her clothes off and get her in my lap.

I cut my own hair every two to three weeks, been doing it for the last 25 some years. I couldn't get the girl at "Great Clips" to fix the cowlick on the back of my head, she would not cut the back shorter than the front. I watched them cut it, with guards and thought, why the heck am I paying for this? You cant even get it right? That and I save a lot of money doing it myself.

Man, isn't that the most frustrating shit ever? I'd be able to grow my hair out longer without looking strange if it wasn't for my hair doing that. Any time I have grown my hair out, I've had to endure a 2-3 month odd looking helmet head phase before the hair is actually heavy enough to weight itself down.

The Braun did an amazing job last night. Seriously, it's not quite as close a shave as a blade, but it's damn close. Much, much better than the Norelco rotary and took less time. I hadn't shaved since Thursday, so it had a decent amount of growth to cut through, too. I spent a decent amount, but it also came with a charging station and an automatic cleaning/lubrication cycle that seems to do a very nice job, too.
