Me thinks that the Royals have become the darling of the baseball world. Just look at all the Royals fans that show up at Royals away games. As soon as we win a World Series, we will get the respect of being hated again. I'm not sure ballot box stuffing has anything to do with it.

I thought he had reset his season. Before the Yankee abortion, in his previous 3 games, he was 3-0 with a 1.99 ERA. I think he'll turn it around tonight, but my gawd, that was just an absolute implosion on Memorial Day. :shake:

Yeah, seem to remember a game against Cleveland here, last year when he gave up like 3 solo shots. We were always ahead by 3 or so but nonethless him on the mound doesn't bode well for a stop to our losing ways as of late.

Then again, after such a horrid start in NY, he might come out dealing.

When the league and media were crying and whining about us not taking shit from other teams, a lot of baseball fans saw what was really happening and got our back.

I don't think we are the "darling" of the baseball "business" world

I almost hope he blows up again so that we can expedite the 'replace him from the rotation' process

Be careful what you wish for. It's not like we have a great option to replace him with, especially given that Vargy is coming off an injury and has been VERY inconsistent.

Be careful what you wish for. It's not like we have a great option to replace him with, especially given that Vargy is coming off an injury and has been VERY inconsistent.

Further:

1. Duffy is injured and a fucking head case

2. Chris Young, who knows much much longer he can keep dealing

3. Joe Blanton? PUKE!

4. Finnegan isn't ready to be in the everyday rotation. I think he needs a full year in the Minors starting

5. Lamb could spot start, but is he ready to be plugged in? I don't think so.........

6. Kris Medlen.....maybe later this Summer, but no way he can jump in right away.

I'm rooting for JGuts to tun it around, Vargy to come back from the flexor strain, and for Duffy to pull his head outta his ass when he's on the mound. We need ALL of those guys to come back to form if we want to have a legit shot at winning the Central.

I don't think we are darlings that much. I'm sure there's some casual fans who "fell in love" during the playoff run and/or who now have heard of Lorenzo Cain and thinks he has a cool name. But I'm guessing most of this is "real" Royals fans doing a lot of clicking.

And there's nothing wrong with that. Fan votes are always going to be kind of stupid and unfair, and at least everyone else basically has the same chance to stuff the clickbox. That really wasn't the case when you actually had to go to a game and punch out a ballot.

If somehow these totals hold + Hoz and Morales were able to win, that would be an insane 7 starters. I imagine MLB might step in press the 'delete' button on a couple of the less deserving guys. Of course, we wouldn't know about it.

I remember when they would hand out those punch out ballots at the stadium during the game. They would send like 200 of them down a row of 25 people. Good times

I think over the past few years "summer interns" working in the Commish's Office have created the "desired result" during the last two weeks of voting. They probably have somebody around the office to override controls thus allowing the interns to vote more than 35 times/day.
