The Chiefs are now back at the offseason roster maximum of 90.

On Tuesday, just hours after they waived receiver Da’Rick Rogers and tackle Kelvin Palmer, they claimed guard Marcus Reed off waivers from Green Bay, according to the NFL’s transaction report.

Reed, who is listed at 6 feet 5 and 350 pounds, was signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent in May. He was waived Monday.

Camp notes

▪ Quarterback Tyler Bray was in attendance Tuesday. Bray, who tore his ACL in January, was away from the team during organized team activities. He stood on the sidelines wearing a wrap on his left knee.

▪ Former Hawaii receiver Kealoha Pilares, cornerback Kenneth Penny (UNLV) and offensive guard Derek Dennis (Temple) participated in Tuesday’s practice on a tryout basis. Penny attended the Chiefs’ rookie camp in May.

Maclin addresses injury

Jeremy Maclin missed practice on June 9 because of what the team called foot inflammation, but returned to practice a day later.

On Tuesday, Maclin said he wasn’t sure how he originally irritated the foot.

“I don’t even know,” Maclin said. “I went through practice, and at the end of practice I felt sore a little bit. I had a day off there and felt great the following day.”

A 700 yard rusher, and two, not one... but two, 500 yard passers!

Apparently Morse isn't doing so well as a guard.

According to...?
According to us already having a slew of Guards on the roster and we still pick up Reed. I would think Morse being ready would indicate guard isn't much of a need. This pick up of Reed suggests otherwise.

That's quite the conclusion to jump to.

That's pretty silly. There's a 90 man roster limit, not 53 at this point, and Dorsey is getting a good look at all the available options. One of these guys could end up on the Practice Squad, if not the 53.

He's just performing his Due Diligence and it's absurd to read anything more into the situation.

Marcus Reed has nothing to do with Morse or Mathis

 Why do people speculate stuff like this?

No every move has a reason behind it. Sometimes it's just an extra body.

It was just a fucking observation, it isn't the gospel according to BCF. I found it interesting that we picked up another guard and chimed in. Big fucking deal.

Soooo Why would you sign a scrub at RG, with all of them that we have, if you were going to sign a proven RG? It would be different if it was another position but you wouldn't do that with the same position.

To compete for that 3rd or 4th spot on the depth chart?

This signing doesn't mean anything other than we have another fatty. That's it.

Perhaps he was signed in for the purpose of defensive development, making sure our defensive guys know how to attack a big guy like this.
