View Full Version : Life What type of adult camp would you go to?

While the rich kids got to go to Camp Arrowhead in the summer, I generally stayed home and played in the back room of the day-old bread store. I had a lot of fun doing that, but at the same time I never got to make a wallet or use a canoe or peek into the girl's showers after lights-out.

If there were adult camps where you could go and spend two weeks doing some themed activity, what type of camp would you go to? I have hand-stitched a nice leather poll that will be up soon, and tell me the three types of camps that you would most want to attend.

And as a note, I did not include sex camp, porn camp, and hooker camp, because I figured those would run away with the voting.

If Bill Murray isn't my Counselor then **** your camp, I'll just revert further into my shell and then you're all screwed.

See, that other camp?
Each camper will stalk and kill his own bear.

I would like to go to a fantasy crime camp, where you can stage and execute heists and contract killings.

That or an adult adult camp would be nice.

So you're saying no two week getaway at the Mustang Ranch?

Wouldn't that be a great business model? I'm shocked that it doesn't exist.

As I think about it, it's kind of hard to beat the Classic Camp. That might be my #1. You get some general skillbuilding, lots of opportunities to bond with fellow campers, and it's low-stress.

The Army Air Corps camp would be fun, and maybe the fitness camp or the computer camp third.

Not seeing sex camp as an option. A little help here?

I voted for the B-17 camp as one of my choices. I just hope it wouldn't end with me and my crew left in limbo not knowing if we finished all our missions and were sent home. ;)

I did a molecular biology boot camp about 10 years ago. Learned a ton and had a blast. I wish I could get a camp experience similar to that every couple of years. Really recharges the batteries.

I went to Space Camp for Educators in 2006. It was a great experience.
I ended up being the captain for the crew and 'flew' the Space Shuttle. Landed it like a pro.

The worst part was walking around the campus in Hunstville, AL in the flight suit.
Damn, the humidity.

I don't remember having smores

Oh, dang. I should have added Molecular Biology Boot Camp to the poll.

Weapons. Because I'd get to use cool shot without buying it.

Basketball. I love playing it. But I'd have to train for a few months first. I'm in no condition to do that ATM.

I have discussed creating a "man camp" where city folks and lumbersexuals can come and do manly shit for a weekend with a group of friends. Chop wood, build fence, fish, ride at vs, shoot guns. You are going home with blisters, scratches, a hangover, bass thumb bad ideas and less money.

Camps that I am not too interested in.

Writing camp.
Withdrawal camp.
Space camp
Soccer camp
Sailing camp
Photography camp
Makeover camp
Film camp -- would be much more interesting if I had a story I wanted to tell
Fat camp
Daredevil camp
Church camp
Archeology camp

Camps that I am interested in, but probably know enough about it that a 2 week camp would be too basic.

Wine and beer camp.
Internet camp
Handyman camp
Computer camp -- almost picked this one anyway

Camps that I am interested in but seemed too be too demanding (sleeping on the ground) for me to enjoy at this age and physical condition. These would have been more appealing 10 years ago.

Outdoor survival camp
Native american camp
Football camp
Fitness camp
Civil war camp
Caveman camp
Boot camp

Camps that I am interested in, but eliminated due to lack of talent.

Rock and Roll camp
Hockey camp
Baseball camp
Basketball camp
Band camp
Art camp -- almost picked this anyway

Camps that I seriously considered.

WWII camp
Weapons camp -- wish it was more focused on firearms.
Meditation camp
Classic camp -- if I had not done this many times growing up, I would have picked it. Looking for new experiences.
Army corp

Camps that I selected

Driving camp -- would be a blast!
Cooking camp -- would be fun.
Charm camp -- would be very useful

Following the trademarked cdcox format, here's my thinking:

Camps that I am not too interested in.

Withdrawal camp.
Wine and beer camp.
Soccer camp
Sailing camp
Photography camp
Fat camp
Daredevil camp
Driving camp
Cooking camp
Church camp

Camps that I am interested in, but probably know enough about it that a 2 week camp would be too basic.

My god, I have no skills at all.

Camps that I am interested in but seemed too be too demanding (sleeping on the ground) for me to enjoy.

Native american camp
Football camp
Civil war camp
Caveman camp

Camps that I am interested in, but eliminated due to lack of talent.

Rock and Roll camp
Hockey camp
Baseball camp
Basketball camp

Camps that I considered, but didn't think would be enough fun.

WWII camp
Weapons camp
Meditation camp
Handyman camp
Boot camp
Band camp
Archeology camp

Camps that I moderately considered but didn't make the first cut.

Outdoor survival camp
Makeover camp

Camps that I seriously considered.

Writing camp - It would be fun, but I would want more physical activity.
Space camp - It would be fun, but I don't think I have a space fixation these days.
Internet camp - Not enough physical activity.
Film camp - I could really enjoy this. I came very close to picking it.
Computer camp - While I would prefer more physical activity, this would be a good skill to pick up.
Charm camp - I could really use this, but it wouldn't be that fun.
Art camp - I think this could be a lot of fun, but I'd be starting from Level Zero.

Camps that I selected

Classic camp - Camp is about having fun and gazing at the stars. I want that experience.
Army Air corp - While I'm not into the 'fantasy life' thing, I think this could be a blast and it would be fun to learn the different roles.
Fitness camp - At my age this is a good idea and it could be kind of fun.

I kind of figured that Weapons Camp would be very popular, but the support for Handyman Camp is intriguing. But I could see Handyman Camp being kind of cool.

Are there any real camps that do either of these things?

Deer camp. My fondest memory as a kid is when Dad took me and my brother along with his friends. We got to hear colorful language and watch Dad act like a kid around his buds.

Shout out to my Rock and Roll campers.

I've got weed. And a Marshall. And a Jackson 4x12. It's loud.

Porn camp would of been nice.

Then there would have only needed to be one choice to choose from.

What about "Bitch About CP Mods Camp"?

Have a passive aggressive bitching experience and eat gourmet smores made by FMB.

I could direct that one or teach you. I can teach anyone how to draw—even those who claim to be do stick figures. You won't be DaVinci but you will draw decently well.

I'd have added a music camp. I always wanted to learn to read music at least.

Ever watch that show Top Shot? It used to be on History channel. I always figured that they'd make a ton of money selling a week or two camp like experience where you get to shoot all the guns, and have competitions etc. But I haven't heard of that being available.

So when I saw the thread title, I was kinda surprised. I was figuring that Rain Man would be listing a bunch of fetishes and people would vote on whether they wanted to go to bondage camp, foot fetish camp, etc. ROFL :shake:

And then five minutes later I see this, which I thought pithy and appropriate.

Hockey Camp, Space Camp and (OTHER) for Storm/Tornado Chasing camp where I could learn to drive and operate all functions of a TIV (Tornado Intercept Vehicle). Work with more experienced and seasoned chasers.
