Geno reportedly sucker punched by teammate. Out 6-10 weeks with broken jaw. You can't make shit like this up.

http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/13416881/geno-smith-new-york-jets-6-10-weeks-broken-jaw?ex_cid=espnTW

New York Jets quarterback Geno Smith will miss six to 10 weeks after suffering a broken jaw in a locker-room altercation.

Coach Todd Bowles said Smith was hit by linebacker IK Enemkpali on Tuesday morning.

Bowles said Smith was "sucker-punched" by the linebacker. The quarterback will undergo surgery, he said.

Enemkpali has been released by the team, Bowles said.

At least you don't have to worry about Chase's jaw being broken. The dent in his chin creates a pocket that will cushion any punch to his jaw.

Doesn't sound like Murray will be ready, so if KC really wants to make a deep run, it might be best to hold onto Daniel for the remaining year. I don't see Daniel being able to sustain wins for long, but he could win a game or two out of 4, and keep KC alive, if Smith goes down.

One happened on the field. That's tolerable. Not good, but tolerable. If your QB is getting into altercations off the field with teammates, then that's a major problem.

If the report about Maclin and Cooper was that they were fighting in the locker room, then that would be a major story. But on the field, it's not as bad. Now obviously Cam being a QB changes things, but same principle applies for me.

Geno will never be as good as Fitzpatrick. Most of us could see it his senior season. He beat up on inferior competition in college and didn't do very well when he moved to the Big X. The reports leading up to the draft on him and about his interviews were negative. He acted like an ass at the draft itself when he slid down the board. He's not acted any differently since he's been with the Jets. From his garbage performances on the field to his flipping off home fans, his colors have always been on display for everyone to see, except the willfully ignorant. He doesn't have the character or maturity to lead a football team.

The ball was about to be stripped, and Geno just tried to loop it around his back to the other hand to remain control. Personally I thought it was a nice try, he just didn't pull it off.

The problem is he shouldn't be holding the ball with one hand when he sees a defender baring down on him. He needs to cradle it with both hands and take the sack or try to get away.

Also, everything Cochise said is right on the money.

I don't really agree with it, but Geno is just made the posterboy for fans that want and wanted their own early rd QB pick to develop.

It doesn't matter that Geno sucks.. or is a douche... or if he always sucks at pro ball. It's all about wanting their franchise to take that big swing for the fences, and the thrill of seeing whether that risk pays off.

( It's lacking any sense of situational reality that the new-arriving coaches... most fans... and very importantly, the top players.. want their team to be competitive now. They don't want to sit through and endure shit years while developing that rookie QB behind a bottom tier OL and WR corps.) The coaches actually want to keep their jobs long enough to build a winner.

Whether big brother's clothes or nice or not... some are not happy with putting on some other person's clothes.

He wasn't made a poster boy by anyone but the Geno At 1.1 crowd.

This is what we'd get if the Geno Mafia were in charge. This is where the "it doesn't matter if there is any QB worth the draft position where we find ourselves, you pick the BQBA no matter what" path ends.

That's a bit of a leap.

If Incognito causes any problems, the cap hit is negligible this season and zero next season. Cutting Harvin after the 2015 season will give them $10 million in cap savings with zero dead money.

While I think it's likely that Incognito is a dickhead douchebag, I also think that Ted Wells is a POS. Jonathan Martin is now out of football while Incognito's still playing, so that says something about abilities and attitude.
