Green Bay should have been on the phone with him the second Jordy crumpled on the field.

Eh, Davante Adams is a pretty solid next man up.

He already had a visit before he got hurt.

Reggie Wayne's NFL career isn't over yet.

The New England Patriots agreed to a one-year deal with the veteran wideout on Monday, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

ESPN first reported the news.

Wayne battled injuries last year and looked like a shell of himself at the tail end of his last season with the Indianapolis Colts. The six-time Pro Bowl receiver caught 64 passes for 779 yards and two touchdowns in 2014.

Meh. Patriots WR corps is pretty banged up right now. Wayne should be the 4th option or so, behind Edelman/Amendola/LaFell.

His best days are long behind him. He was a complete non-factor last year when we played them.

Packers and Panthers might be looking for a WR to fill in the role for their WR they had lost.

Donnie Avery
Dane Sanzenbacher
Brad Smith
Brandon Lloyd
Jerrel Jernigan
Santana Moss
Robert Meachem

I can see Avery heading to the Panthers.

Perhaps Reggie Wayne is just going to do some advanced scouting for the Colts. See if they can find any microphones in the visitor's locker room at Gillette. SPYgate, indeed!!

if healthy.. he adds a nice veteran leadership to that corps. Brady will have some good/decent targets in Gronk/edelman/Amendola/Wayne

He can run precise routes. As a third or fourth option he's a lot better than their other choices, especially with Brady throwing him the ball. If he plays all year I'd be happy with 800 yards.

If he gets 800, that's probably a sign that other receiver options aren't being as good as they should be, or that someone important is hurt.

He SHOULD be a situational 4th or 5th receiver, and if Gronk, Edelman, Amendola, LaFell, and Scott Chandler and whoever-takes-over-for-Vereen do what they should then he should not get anywhere near that much.

800 yards would be a GREAT year for him.

Yeah but you can only do that so many times before WR depth becomes a very real issue...look at what happened everytime DBOWE was suspended here.

I think Brady would take 800 from him too.

Given the injury status l see Wayne as the #3 WR at worst. Maybe even #2 opposite Edelman, since LaFell has yet to do any work in months (he's missed so much offseason and preseason work, he'll probably take half the season to hit his stride).

If both are healthy, Amendola should outperform Wayne.

Honestly, if Wayne has more than 500 yards, that isn't going to be a good sign. Wayne is ancient. A good route runner with not much burst, I expect he signed for not terribly much more than the veteran minimum ($970,000 for a player with 10+ years in the league).

He had ~500 yards 2 years ago (7 games played) and ~800 last year (15 games) with a good QB and no other receiving options other than TY Hilton. I agree LaFell has missed so much time it might take him a while to knock off the rust, but we're talking about a 36 year old WR with no speed at all. If he gets 800 yards, it's probably not a good thing for us.

There's no point in spying. A couple of idiots on here have revealed yet again that the game is rigged.

Very surprised it's this high, but suspect there are alot of NLTBE bonuses in that number.

Agreed. Reggie is done, unless he was more hurt than he let on last year. He was never a speed demon to begin with but he was running in molasses last year.

As much as I hate to see him in New England, I can't begrudge the man wanting to work.

Belichick has always loved him some Reggie Wayne.
