Just put a new fuel filter in, and the shifter broke off in the transmission.

Don't know what to do, I'm no transmission expert.

Fuck my life

Have you tried drinking antifreeze?

Have you tried drinking antifreeze?

No, but your mom is coming to pick me up.

I'll probably serve her a tall sparkling glass, even though it's waaaaay too late.

I mean, you think everything is fixed, right?

Someday, I hope your owner leaves you locked in the car with the windows up.

You'll deserve it.

Hi, I'm KC native. I can't get enough rabblerouser - i follow him around in every single thread, like a stalker. Hell, I wish I got pussy like him, or I would if I wasn't gay. Vaginas scare me, even though i have one. I don't care if people know i fucked my brother and my dog. Look me up on CL, I'm the m4m bottom looking for a top. Holla.

Damn, doood.

I'm still trying to figure out how you managed to break a transmission related part while changing a fuel filter.

Brock
09-16-2015, 09:44 AM
Not sure what you mean by the shifter breaking off. Auto or stick? Sure it isn't just a broken linkage or something?

This.

Iowanian
09-16-2015, 09:47 AM
My interpretation is the shifter linkage isn't associated with the fuel filter. I think he's saying he just made that repair, and NOW the shifter is broken.

I'm not sure how a shifter breaks off in a transmission.

What is the truck? Is it a linkage or an electronic issue?

I'm assuming automatic because he mentioned it won't go into park.

All except for the fact that it won't go into park, everything is tip-top.

How many miles? May be time to bail out and get a new one or newer used one. I had to do that on my Jeep after 250,000 miles last spring.

Shifter linkage shaft? Take it to a shop and have it replaced.

Semi easy fix - especially for any transmission shop. Find out where the break occurred. Chances are it's up higher than where it connects to the tranny. Just remove and replace with a new shifter. Done. :thumb:

Happened to me, on one of my cars, when banging 2nd gear.

The only reasonable solution is to set your truck on fire, collect the insurance money, and then buy a new truck!
