KC is always good for one major upset a season....this looks like the proper setting.

No one else on their schedule looks like a glaring mismatch.....this and only this is why I'm picking KC to win. I'm not expecting them to...but wont be surprised either.

i think this game defines this team. .

I agree with this. If this is the team I think they are, they respond to blowing the Denver game. If not...I'll watch the rest of the season from a distance. I've already seen this dog and pony show for decades....

Are they a contender..or just good enough every once in a awhile? This is the game to actually prove they've made progress....and the choke job was just a "bump in the road".

I've been a Smith supporter but he is on a short leash....he has weapons and a top 5 defense now. Brady just put up 50 points...with a bunch of no names. We all saw how they "turned the corner" after KC blew them out. That's what championship level teams do...

This is a respect game....

Can someone make sure Reid has his insulin pens ready especially when the Chiefs get in the Redzone or Goal to go situations? His blood sugar really tanks during those moments.

Also, we need someone to make sure Buttons has his evening blanket and snacks. We don't need him getting cold and hungry this late in the day.

You guys might need a new game day thread...

Chiefs are 23-17 on MNF (57% win rate)
Packers are 14-8-1 on MNF (60% win rate)

KC is 3-0 lifetime at Green Bay

Rodgers is 4-1 on Monday Night Football and...
- in his last 18 games has thrown 43 TDs and 0 INTs at home
- hasn't thrown an INT at home since 12/12/12
- last home loss was 11/4/13

Packers have a few stars that are dinged up and the KC defense should give them problems. You'll need Alex to push the envelope a bit, with a whole lot of focus on Charles and Davis. That 2-headed monster should set the tone early.

First instinct is to say 31-17, Packers... but I think KC could pull off a 23-20 win. (doubt it though, want to be clear about that so TEX doesn't get his va-jayjay all salty)

KC has a good offense... question is, will they stick with the basics.

I would expect a team with Charles, Davis, Kelce and the other TE to really pound it out with a lot of rushing and short passes (5-10 yards) and look for the YAC. Maclin can stretch it and is a legit deep threat, so let him open up the middle.

Smith isn't a stretch the field QB, but with those 2 RBs and 2 TEs... they should be able to eat up a lot of clock and consistently control the ball. The miserable 3rd down conversion rate is mind boggling when you have those 4 guys.

It's real simple in my opinion. If Smith will actually get the ball to our WR's and put them in the end zone, we win. If not, we lose. End of discussion.

If he can't throw a TD to a WR against a cruddy GB defense then he should be benched. There is no excuse left for the 18 game streak.

What Smith has accomplished with this streak is beyond logic and I can't think of another starting QB in the league that would have gone 18 effing games with out getting one WR a TD. I can't even think of a team that would not have benched him by now. Even he must know how insane this has become.

I am hopeful and in the for the win. 35-17.

True this team is really built like a true WCO offense. There shouldn't be any reason ever to throw -4 yard passes from 1st and goal at the 2. Were not a vertical Coryell or Al Clay Davis go deep every play type of team.

I think the most frustrating part is we are not playing to the strengths of the players. We always go away from what works, get cute at critical times (wr pass in redzone)and we're still trying (after 3 years) to form some sort of identity on the offense...

Smith cant stretch the field. Whether he can physically or not. The dude is damaged in the head. There isn't anything going to change it.... QB guru Reid should be able to see this (everyone in the fucking nation can) and adjust this offense to either Smiths strengths or take away the easy outs and force Smith to push the ball past the LOS.

Until then we get to :banghead: and waste more time wondering when we are going to actually be a playoff team and a legit candidate to play in a Super Bowl... But last Thursday's coaching debacle and turnovers, we're still floundering in mediocrity...

Looking at the last 2 games, Chiefs should be able to run the ball well on KC... Chicago did it and SEA did as well, although most came from Wilson. 189 and 119 rushing yards given up the first two weeks and KC should push that beyond the 150 mark. Ground and pound.

If this team is going to win tonight, they will give JC and Davis a combined 40 carries, Alex will bootleg, Andy will call other misdirection plays and only screens on GB blitzes.

This team has to play the way the 2011 49ers did. Play defense, run the ball, limit QB risk and don't turn it over.

Today, as I was donning my Chiefs gear, it occurred to me that my life as a Chiefs fan has been akin to taking the Black of the Night's Watch.

"Fall gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no joy, hold no trophies, father no championships. I shall wear no rings and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the voice in the Red Sea. I am the watcher in the stands. I am the shield that fails to guard the realms of my quarterback. I have bashed it but only because it limits us on offense. Defenses need to worry about all our players and not just two.

We need Maclin and Wilson to be scoring threats not just JC and Travis. The only way that happens is by getting them a few TD's.

Monday night stunner. Chiefs roll into Lambeau Field for a nationally televised game, and are firing on all cylinders. They'll be in control most of the game and win by at least 10. The final score will be closer than how each team performed over the course of the game.

Maclin catches a bomb and does a nifty fake-out to shake the last DB to touch 'em up for 6.

Charles will break off a quick hit through the gap at least once for over 30 yards.

Chiefs D will have at least 3 sacks and force at least 1 turnover.

Mitch Holtus will talk about how historic GB and the field is excessively no less than 3 times per quarter.

Their Safety is out again this week. They're ripe to be gashed, because he's vital for them in stepping up into the box and plug the hole. Without him, they can be pounded on and a healthy dose of sledding can wear them down and pay dividends as the game progresses- not to mention limit the Green Bay Rodgers time of possession.

Unfortunately, Smith's envelope is one of those tiny ones attached to a bouquet of flowers, not the 8.5" x 11" legal ones.

Charles is going to have to have 25+ carries in this game for us to win, and that's not mentioning holding on to the ****ing ball.

Alex will have his usual 17-28, 215 yard, 1 TD 1 INT game, but the victory tonight if it comes will be up to Charles and the defense.

Truth. 25-30 from charles, add another 10-15 from kniles. Hopefully see a LOT more Charles/Davis with Sherman tank in front of them. Opens up more play action/boot for alex and takes the pressure off the oline.

I expect the Packers to win, but disagree that a Chiefs win would be close. A Chiefs win would require jumping out to a big lead and then taking the air out of the ball. If it's close in the fourth quarter, Rodgers will just turn on Superman mode. Alex won't.

I think people are underestimating how they're going to fare tonight even if it's GB on the road.

They can't or won't play as horribly as last Thursday when they gift-wrapped and handed the Donkeys a win on a silver platter.

Seriously, Denver did absolutely nothing to win that game by comparison to all of the mistakes, penalties, and turnovers self-inflicted by our own pathetic play. In spite of all this, KC was still in the lead for all but about 2 minutes of the game.

Green Bay has a backup playing against Houston, their best run stopping Safety out on a defense ranked 31st in stopping the run, no Jordy Nelson or Lacy. The list goes on.
Chicago kept pace with Green Bay for most of the game when they played until about a third of the way through the 4th quarter. Yes, Chicago- and they're an abomination.

Didn't the Chiefs have a nationally televised game last year in week 3 that everyone was writing off as a certain loss ?

How'd that turn out.

I've just got this feeling that this team has had extra time off to stew about how shitty they were the last game and are salty to get out on the field and erase all memory of the Denver game.

There's plenty of motivation and to top it off it'll be another national spotlight game to top it off.

This team may not be good on some historical level, but take a look around the AFC, because I don't see a long list of teams that are for certain better than the Chiefs.

Smith doesn't need to push the envelope in this game. To win tonight we need to have long sustained drives. If we can keep Rogers off the field and not let them get into rhythm we have a chance. I want to see Smith go something like 24-29 with 220 yards and a few first downs rushing the ball with no turnovers. If he can do that and we have an effective running game (again with no turnovers) we will have a shot to win.

I had the worst steak I've ever eaten at the Red Lobster near the stadium. Has nothing to do with your point, just thought I'd talk crappy meat.

You went to Red Lobster and got steak? The actual ****?

Do you order Kung Pao Chicken when you go to the Olive Garden? :doh!:

Yeah he needs to grip the rock tonight. Other teams know about his fumbling issues so they will be trying to strip it and get in the extra shot to try to separate him from the ball.

I think it'll take me about 1 Packers drive to decide whether or not we have a chance.

We can win if we get pressure on Rodgers exposing his one flaw (holding the ball too long).

If we can't get to him, constantly, he's going to rip us to shreds.

And say what you want about Cooper who has had his own problems -- he has shown up in some games. Maybe he craps the bed again, but nothing could be worse than Fleming. Dude's confidence was shattered, then steamrolled, then hit with multiple nuclear detonations and the resulting dust poured into a volcano.

No prayers for wins here -- this is the kind of game we have to win if we want to take the step up. That game in 2003 that we won in OT was a perfect example of a team that took the next step. If we can't do it then we don't deserve to be in the post-season conversation obviously.

Win it with finesse, smarts, or brute force. Don't care. Get the win or STFU.
