The thing is that the team does have a ton of talent, and there are times where the Defense does enough to win the game despite having a huge vagina under center on the offense.

They have too much talent to be huge underdogs.

I think Vegas just realizes the impact Sean Smith will have on this defense. You take Talib off that Broncos d the first 3 weeks and they're likely 1-2 also.

They know :

1)The Chiefs are a good team
2) The Chiefs only lost to Denver because of 2 Charles fumbles
3) Aaron Rodgers is on a different level and RIGHT NOW could beat any team.
4) the Chiefs should be 2-1 right now
5) Andy Reid

It does seem a tad low, but more than 7 points is pretty rare, maybe a couple/few of the matchups per week..

I guess there are enough people taking the chiefs +4 points to keep it steady so far...

I don't feel like 4 points is enough to make me want to take this bet....

Even at 7 , I would still be scared...I have no idea what team will show up in cinci....

Some of those numbers were really confusing me, they didn't make sense.
Then it hit me.
The "Side" column is the percentage of money bet on the spread.
The "Money" column is the percentage of money bet on the money line.

91% of the money is not bet on the Giant.
91% of the money bet on the "Money Line" is on the Giants.

Like I said, something is amiss.

The sharks are factoring in in-game injuries for the Bengals. They're going to lose several key defensive players before halftime due to them splitting their sides open laughing at Alex Smith.

No...91% of bets placed are on the Giants, but only half the total amount of money has been bet on them. A ton of small bets have been placed on the Giants. A few very large bets have been placed on the Bills.

Every Joe Goatee in Vegas dropped $50 on New York. The big players are on Buffalo.

In 3 years (36 games), the Chiefs have only lost by more than 7 points 5 times. They've only lost by more than 4 points 9 times.

Yet because we lost one game by 10 points we suddenly think this team is going to get blown out.

Or maybe guys who make a gajillion dollars making Vegas odds don't overreact the way we do.

Yep. The numbers don't lie. People are emotional and see things in much more polar terms than reality. We got crushed by Green Bay and lost by 10. It felt like we lost by 40...but it was 10.

It says right on the top of the page that the money column is the money bet on the money line, which makes sense that 91% is on the Giants, it pays out at +195.

Look at some of the college games.
133 LOUISVILLE 42% 100%
134 NORTH CAROLINA STATE 58% 0%

It's not possible that 58% of the bets are on on NC State, but 100% of the money is on Louisville. The spread bets are 50/50 and all of the money line bets are on Louisville (+165).

Side:
Side is the Point Spread Line (“against the spread”) or in Baseball, the Run Line.
Money:
This is the “Money Line” bet where bookmakers adjust the price of the wager instead of using a point spread to even the odds.
Total:
Total is also known as Over/Under, where the wager is based on the total points scored by both teams.

Yes and no. Fucked us with an early short Thursday game. Gave us a big advantage with an 11 game rest going into green Bay. So no excuse for the chiefs to have looked flat.

More importantly, the chiefs didn't really play on Monday, so hopefully they didn't get gassed. Only Houston has an excuse to be tired.

I knew the season was done when Reid Reided the biggest series in the biggest game for the Chiefs in the last decade. A chance to put a statement on the season and give the franchise the boost of confidence it needed. 1st and goal from the 2.... Then Reid happened many more times that Thursday night...

Season done. Confidence gone.... This franchise is emotionally exhausting for fans that grasp the concepts of what it takes to win in the modern day NFL...

I think you may be right. How we lost that Denver game did it for me. As bad as the play on the field was, the coaching, on both sides of the ball, was WORSE. I'm convinced that the Green Bay debacle happened as a result of the Denver loss. When we look back on the season, we may see that Denver loss as being season defining. It says worlds when you're out coached by Gary Kubiac. The team is clearly going backwards and it's year 3.

We need to start guessing what, exactly, the fail of the week will be.

I'm guessing some full-fetal followed by.....mmmm.....damn.

My spidey sense is telling me that either Kelce or Charles are about to get fucking PLOWED on a shitty ReidSmith screen. I mean BAD.

Not good.

Also, 4th quarter clock hi-jinx from Reid that will be the most comical yet.

I had a dream yesterday afternoon that Smith was aggressive and throwing downfield successfully against Cincy.

The bad part: I had just had lasik and was medicated from valium and one percicet (sp?).

You aren't kidding.

I am one of the few people on this planet that has never did drugs.

I prefer my high to come 12 ounces at a time.

That shit fucked me up every which way imaginable. Seriously, I could have dreamed that 3 supermodels were using my body as a jungle gym and it would have been more believable.

Speaking of drugs, this is the song Sandy Cheeks fantasy-strips to when Alex is on TV:

The younger son and I tee-off at 7:20, so we shouldn't be too late to the show.

Not a gambler, but I'd like to know how far they go with this?

Do they have an over/under for Alex Smith first half passing yards?

I'd bet his int yards > his passing yards

It'll be Sean Smith or Peters' fault in the minds of a lot of homers. Guarantee it.

I seriously wonder where you get these stories from. Just like your last comment that much of cp was predicting a deep playoff run. Nobody is saying anything close to these things.

He perceives it; therefore, it is real.

I'm normally pretty logical in life but I can't bet against the chiefs

I would give up the 4 points and take the over though.

I'm 4-0 against t he spread this year and 4-0 on the o/u. On record.

Make it 5-0 & 5-0

Yes...they're called player props. Mostly for big games/playoffs/super bowl.

In the super bowl you can bet on ridiculous stuff like which team will call a timeout first, throw a red flag first, miss a field goal...etc...

It can be kind of fun to throw a couple dollars on player props. I once did a bunch of 5 dollar player prop cards and it was like playing bingo keeping track of which cards were busted.

I guess that's what chiefs fans are relegated to doing to keep super bowls interesting
