From Peter King, MMQB:

"I think we have a problem if Pittsburgh running back DeAngelo Williams is appearing in NFL-sponsored commercials for breast cancer, but the league won’t honor his request to wear pink all season to honor his mother, who passed away from the disease in 2014. Because, after all, that would mean Williams has the audacity to disrespect the game with a uniform violation."

The NFL doesn't care about women, breast cancer, or domestic violence. It cares about appearing to care about these things so women buy NFL merchandise.

Uniform guidelines have existed far longer than Roger Goodell. Not to mention I'm sure he has a department that handles the rules and fines for him on cases such as this.

He should wear pink underwear. Screw you Goodell!

Depending on what he wants, like a pink ribbon, would be fine but pink shoes, gloves could be too much. I understand depending on what he wants to do but I still hate Goodell anyway

Sucks, but if he lets this happen where does he draw the line?

I understand the concern about drawing the line, but in this case (if you watched the Monday night game) you have a player doing a 30 second commercial pretty much all by himself on the screen talking about breast cancer and the NFL. It seems a bit harsh/hypocritical for the NFL to use him and then basically say "October is over, screw your cause."

I'm finding it difficult to be outraged by this.

I don't need anymore reasons to hate Goodell, but I can't fault him for drawing the line here.

The entire league wears them on occasion. What difference does it make?

This is true, however they should look the other way in these instances.
