The Cleveland Browns signed wide receiver Dwayne Bowe to a two-year contract in March that included $9 million in guaranteed money. It continues to have the appearance of one of the worst deals in franchise history.

Bowe remains an afterthought in Cleveland, listed as inactive in four of the team's six games this season. On Wednesday, Browns coach Mike Pettine didn't exactly hint that a Bowe revival was on the way.

"We make that decision each week," Pettine told WKRK-FM of Bowe's inactive status. "We build a plan and see where we are from a depth standpoint. We talk about the minimum position requirements. The top-four guys are entrenched."

Conley is young and has a case of the dropsies

The rest are backups or can't stay healthy

another thing are staff isn't doing very well

Kyle williams was only picked up by the broncos for the knowledge of the chiefs offense, otherwise he is crap. Mccluster is doing nothing. Jon baldwin is finished. Hemingway is a special teams player at best.

I've always said these things are not necessarily cause and effect. It's entirely possible for Alex Smith, the offensive line, and the WR corps to all be terrible. There's plenty of suck to go around.

Whatever but who other than Mac has looked better in the season than he did in the preseason. Yes I'm aware it was preseason and out of football. He got open and hung onto the ball. Can't say the same for what I've seen us running out there.

I'm implying that when it hits your hand you need to catch it. I've seen to many drops. Sure it's right coverage on hot reads they are gonna be punished. But week in and week out I see teams there guys catching it. Its no big deal I'm not going sit here and argue because it's only asuption on my part. But how much worse could he be than Avant.

It's that he doesn't run the correct route which doesn't count against him as a drop. The fact that proven players like Kelce and Maclin are hauling in 70% of targets which puts them in the top 10% of high volume tight ends and receivers just proves that 1) conley is clueless out on the field (can't blame a rookie this early in his career) and/or 2) he has stones for hands (verdict still remains)

Wide receivers usually make the most progress in the second half of their rookie year so I still have hope for him, but my optimism is waning

Obviously, as tk says, there is plenty of suck to go around. The QB, the O-Line, and Bowe can all be terrible at once, and they are.

It's just laughable that Bowe hasn't been dogging it since he got his extension last time, nobody with his ability just falls off the cliff like that and never gets open again.

Dwayne Bowe is not this bad, the guy isn't toast yet... he just doesn't give two shits anymore.

He's rich beyond his wildest dreams and probably feels like he proved quite a bit here, the guy has just quit trying plain and simple... and its too bad, he could be a very nice weapon for that team.

I still have a soft spot for the guy, but have to admit some disappointment in him.
