I'm not suggesting he be inducted. I am putting forth a topic that I believe people will enjoy participating in either to bash Bowe or to kick the shit out of anyone left willing to defend him.

Some, I'm sure, will actually want to have a discussion on his merits. Hell... after the way that things went down with NS I never expected him to be inducted.

Dwayne Bowe once dropped a pass and got old, so should we put him up on the ring of honor in spite of the Chiefs all-time numbers he holds for his position?

Are you guys serious?

Look at the turds who are currently up on the ring of honor, and consider who we have right now who can legitimately surpass any of that production, especially given the franchise's penchant for avoiding franchise QBs and the guys they throw the ball to.

It's gonna be a long time. May as well throw him up there.

Just to be clear, Johnson was only good because of one of the best oline in history. I celebrateD every time Charles broke one of his records. And for bowe, he dropped more important catches than he ever hauled in. Numbers through longevity with the team as the only option do not warrant special recognition just based on the numbers alone.

In the playoff game he had the huge catch and run and took it like 50 yards and then he was slow and was caught from behind and then we had to settle for a field goal. We lost that game by 1 point.

I here ya, but that's why I wouldn't want him up there. Maybe I'm holding the ring of honor to a higher level than it deserves but it seems like mediocre players shouldn't be up there. I understand in the early days they might've felt the need to load it up with guys who weren't exactly deserving.

Reminds me though, I ran into Will Shields at a bar down the street from me a couple weeks ago. I noticed him right away and he was having dinner with his wife so I sort of spied from a distance until they were about done. Then as he was leaving I had to go say hi to him and he was very courteous, then he looked over at my fiance and family and told them hello and to have a great night. He lives just east of Olathe.

That's another point I was making, though.

Mediocre players ARE up there. And once you put in Gonzalez and Waters, there's not much left unless you want to keep scraping the bottom of the bucket.

I think Justin Houston WILL be a worthy admission to that list, and Charles has already done enough to go on the ring one day. Who else currently on this team can you think of as a worthy recipient of team HOF honors?

Honestly I think that's what makes the selections nowadays more difficult. The ring is loaded right now. There's not that much room left. Priest just went up there. So I think from here out the Chiefs have to hold the ring to a higher standard. Only for guys who are elite at their positions for multiple years and went above and beyond a normal player.

Say what you want about the guy, but that 2010 season was pretty amazing. 15 TD catches with Matt Cassel as your QB.

That's like putting Larry Johnson into the ring of honor. Sometimes you just have to say no.

Exactly.

Fuck anyone on offense from 2007-2015 not named Brian Waters, Jamaal Charles, or Priest Holmes.

Bowe couldn't hold OT's jock, he'd drop it. Even though OT played fewer games, he still has more yards and TDs, and that was in an era that wasn't pass happy.

Dwayne Bowe. This franchise is terrible. I don't even know what to say anymore.

True. The deal is in the early part of Taylor's career the Chiefs were part of the AFL which was a pass -happy league, but they also were allowed to play defense. Then after the merger, the NFL rules certainly did not favor offense over defense. The WR's got mugged and literally had to fight their way to get open and catch the ball and Otis gave out more than he took. Dude was nail. Was a different breed of WR than what's out there today.

Would not be at all surprised if in 20 years, when this organization has still failed to do fuck all and need an event to draw out the fans, the club hangs his name up there.

After reviewing the names of the players already there....I can see it happening... I won't be happy about it but it might happen years from now...

Hell no. He is not worthy. The numbers are sad. This franchise has just never had a great WR and Bowe certainly is not one. Him being our all time leader means nothing.
