He looked awful. Just awful.

He applied pretty good pressure most of the day. His ability in the run game is awful though. But i think we knew that going into this game. I wonder if he'd be better served as an ILB next to DJ.

He seems fine when he's just moving forward.

This. He applied some pressure but he needs to bulk up in the offseason. I'd still draft someone as insurance

He was around the QB and got some hurries.

Until someone gets regular playing time, it's hard to make anything of them.

He's been given a reprieve due to his sack that turned the game in our favor.

But it's hard not to worry about his potential as a 3 down player going forward. He'd need to gain 20 pounds just to be decent against the run at this point.

Sit on the bench behind Houston?

Absolutely not.

He can't get off of blocks for shit, his run defense is atrocious and he has no instincts.

Zombo until Houston comes back please

Ford should only come in to rush the passer, it's the only thing he doesn't suck at

He's here to replace Tamba and rush the passer. He just needs to be adequate vs the run.

Maybe I don't know what I'm watching, but I thought he was fine today

When they flipped him and Tamba for a few plays, he looked better. He doesn't have the arm length or the size to consistently play on the strong side.

Ford was the one who knocked the ball out of Carr's hand for a turnover.

You're correct, we shouldn't jump to conclusions

He looked so lost out there half the time though :shake:

I was about to say this. He's better suited for the weak side for sure.

He's got some potential with a quick first step on the blind side.

LOL People can't help but complain, even after a win, on the road, without it's best defensive player.

I don't think we are complaining, he did strip the ball on a sack and had a couple of pressures but he can't get off the block for crap.

He will as he plays more....or maybe he won't but he doesn't play enough to really say much one way or the other.

Agree, I will give him the benefit of the doubt, he needs more playing time.

I STILL think he's gonna be a stud.

He just came off of an injury, and hasn't really had a ton of playing time. But my Eyes see a guy who will cause trouble when he puts it all together.

Dee Ford is the Eric Fisher of 2016.

Ford got handled when he wasn't running around the corner. Did anyone else see the play when Tamba bull rushed his much bigger lineman, put him on his butt and out for a play? Ford needs to take some notes and like someone else suggested, put on 20 pounds.

Sucks

While I wouldn't quite go this far (hate ruining a good piano), I do agree with Mr Busby that Dee Ford doesn't offer much. As several have stated, he seems to have minimal football instincts, isn't big/strong enough and, in my mind, just isn't tough enough to be a solid NFL OLB. I guess he could improve, but I just don't see this guy as a solid, starting OLB.....ever.

Do. Not. Want.

What really needs to happen is that he needs to develop a credible, reliable inside move. Like many have said, he's a pure pass rusher. But he's only got a bull rush (which isn't the best), a bit of a swim move and the outside speed rush.

He needs to get an inside move to counter his speed. A change up to go along with the fast ball so to speak.

He's got the physical gifts that you can't teach. He needs the stuff you can.

He's like Fisher. Has the potential....but was a project coming in. Give him another offseason to put weight and strength on and then see what he has.

I dont know how much more he can bulk up without losing his speed he looks maxed out

I don't see the talent he was drafted to supposedly have.

Draft another pass rusher next year.

The initial burst and speed are there but he has issues getting off his block and turning the corner. I just kept seeing him run circles around Carr every time. To me it just looks like bad technique. Like he kept doing the dent move and most of the time it didn't really work. Some time in the weight room and another year of learning might solve this. Game time experience helps a lot too though because things need to slow down for him.

BryanBusby

He's just isn't any better than when he came in. I don't see any professional pass-rushing technique.

He's just still a dude running as fast as he can; an athelete trying to be a football starter. The Chiefs have one of the best LB coaches in the league. No excuse for this shit really.
