Lol what? Crabtree had 45 receiving yards... 25 of those came on the long td pass inbetween Smith and Berry...So aside from that catch he had 20 yards....

Cooper beat Peters 2 or 3 times in the second half... All Peters gave up aside from that were a few dinky plays where he played too far off but he still came up and made the tackle.

Yea. He might've had a rough game to start, but he doesn't let that keep him out of the next play. Possibly my favorite attribute of Peters. He was struggling for a bit, yet he still comes up with a momentum changing pick.

Jealous of the attention whoring given to Clay? I'll bet my left nut that not only will Peters be our #1 CB in a couple years. But, he'll make the Pro-Bowl and will receive the highest salary of any Chiefs secondary member ever. The kid is a freakin STUD and a rookie to boot. After two to three years in the same system, he'll get the same respect of a Richard Sherman.

Smith\Peters is looking awfully similar to Hasty\Carter. We need to re-sign Smith next season.

I think we forget how good these two could be. Dale Carter could be beat and use "recovery speed" to still make the play. He had a sick level of athletic ability that we have not seen since. Had Carter stayed away from the powder and dedicated himself to the game, he could have been an all-time great.

Hasty would just shut down a whole side of the field. His receivers might see 2 targets per game.

Smith and Peters are good enough, but they are closer to Carr and Flowers than they are to Hasty\Carter.

Dale Carter had twice the athletic ability and half of the football sense.

Every indication is that Peters has stayed drug-free since his MJ suspension in 2011. That is a far cry from Dale Carter. The kid could manage his emotions better, but the same is true for dozens of NFL players.

Dude, I'm looking at the shit right now and it says Peters is fourth in passes defensed and fourth in INT return yards to Reggie Nelson, Josh Norman and Tyrann Mathieu. I don't think it's updated yet because Peters got his 5th INT today and this list only has him at 4.

Dee Ford was fucking awful. I can enjoy the win and still see that he wasn't any good. It doesn't have to always be rainbows after a win. He got stonewalled on every rush, overpursued about a gajillion times. Yeah, he did force a turnover on a play where Derek Carr held the ball for about 30 minutes. But he otherwise played awful. I think Ford is capable of better. He damn well better be.

I'm not saying it has to be all rainbows. Ford needs more starts and reps. Let's see him play more maybe start again this week and see if he plays any better. Pass rushers usually take time to develop.

Dee Ford was ****ing awful.

He also gave up on multiple plays

Yeah, I'm not one to give up on players quickly. I'm notoriously too patient. I'm not saying his career is over. Just that he had a really shitty game despite the win.

Why is nobody mentioning that he also played out of position on the strong side?

Those guys practice to be able to play both sides. You think ford would have been more successful rushing vs a BETTER pass blocker? He couldn't even hold his own vs the right.

Ford getting pressure wasn't the problem. He applied pressure quite a few times. It was defending the run and playing in space that he struggled with mostly. He's a ROLB only.

He needs to develop that grown man strength and develop a strong base.

Hopefully he'll commit in the offseason. Or be cut.

I don't really care which. Passrushers bust all the time.

Why do you think he is a ROLB only? Dude got manhandled all game. Participated in one group sack effort that caused the Mauga INT. Other than that, he did nothing.

Excerpt from article from yesterdays game about Peters....

Peters was jacked up even before the game and was hit with a 15-yard unsportsmanlike penalty after the Raiders’ go-ahead touchdown late in the third quarter. But the interception, his fifth of his rookie season, made for a great return home for the McClymonds High graduate.

“It was hard to stay focused,” Peters said. “My nerves were jumping early in the game. My emotions were just everywhere. Coach and the other leaders on the team brought me back. I made some silly mistakes, but they reeled me in.”

Peters had such a huge contingent of fans, he could’ve even estimate a number.

“I brought the whole town,” he said. “The whole city of Oakland came out. I appreciate the love and support I get from here.”

Chiefs coach Andy Reid expects Peters will learn from this initial experience of playing at the Coliseum.

“He was amped up,” Reid said of Peters. “He loves to play anyways, now coming home. He’ll learn from it. He’s a young guy. He can’t get too emotional. … He can learn from all these experiences along the way. He loves to play the game. He’s a smart kid, he will figure it out and that’s what we do, we keep teaching him.”

I wish I could see his career trajectory right now.

Will he ever be a legit shutdown corner or will he always be that high risk high reward guy that gives up some big plays but makes just as many to atone?

As of right now, I don't know that he was the physicality to be a shutdown guy, but alot of the greatest ones weren't speed demons either, so it's likely technique.

He is a gambler but he seems to have areal feel for the game.

He can absolutely be a shutdown guy. He has all the tools. He's not there yet, but we shouldn't expect him to be. Corner is one of the hardest positions to come into and dominate... Darby has been the better corner so far, but I can see that changing soon. Sky's the limit for him

I don't feel like Darrelle Revis is the most physically gifted guy on the planet either.

Sherman is tall and long but he's not a burner.

I don't really think it's just speed though, he's a little stiff in his hips compared to those guys so it takes him a little time to get after those double cuts

His ceiling is best CB in the league. Whether that equals Revis/Sherman/Peterson at their bests, who knows.

Peters is going to be a better version of Asante Samuel IMO. He'll give up a few plays but is a threat for a pick six all the time. He can be lockdown definitely though. I think he will be.

There's a lot of hype around the Bills' rookie Darby. I believe his PFF grades are better and he has a very low completions against %.

Maclin torched Darby. Hopkins abused him yesterday on a drive too. I don't think he is that far ahead of peters.

Darby in Buffalo and Kwon Alexander in Tampa are the only two I can think of off the top of my head.

Do we know much about his injury yet? The dude's a beast and we really can't afford to not have him out there.

Menstrual cramps. He was in a real nasty mood yesterday. Even threw up from the nausea. :D

This. Most of the pressure we got sunday was due to coverage.

Carr had all day to throw on most downs...
