He and other starters likely won't play week 17 if they take care of business and win the next 3.

I say he ends up around 87 catches, 1185 yards, 8 TDs.

Missed the most impressive stat: 80% reception rate.
Kelce is also hauling in 77% of his targets.

Imagine if we had a legit #2 receiver right now that could catch 65% of their targets. This offense would be unstoppable.

Not at all worried about JMac's final stats. He's been worth the money spent so far, and that's what matters.

Brings up a good question (other than the math involved) What's the new standard for really good in a season? The 1,000 yard mark used to be it, but this year... there are 29 WRs/TEs currently over 700 yards receiving. It's been that way for the last few years.

It's safe to guessitmate that 20 of those will easily surpass 1,000 yards.

There are 8 guys over 1,000 yards now and that number could be as high as 15 after this weekend.

I love that Alex Smith is finally figuring out what he has with Maclin.

I think he's always known. Early on, Maclin had a boat load of targets, even had back to back 140+ yard games (losses though).

Through the 1-5 stretch, he caught 39 of 56 targets for nearly 500 yards.
Maclin vanished in weeks 6, 8, 10, 11... looks like he missed some time too.

Now, he's back in the groove he was early on and they've found the endzone more the last two weeks.

Agreed. I was actually shocked that Wilson stayed in bounds to get the YAC he did on that big play. Along with the deep pass slothfulness/ineptitude, he seems to run right out of bounds or get brought down too quickly.

I still think he's a decent WR.. especially considering an UDFA.. but I really hope that if there's one receiver set to make big strides, it would be Conley. I am seeing Albert as a decent #3 right about now.

Glad we missed out on Glass Sanders since getting Maclin was the result.

Dorsey would have still went out and got Maclin if he had signed Sanders. He made the contract offer to Sanders when Bowe was 1 year into a 55m deal.

In fact, being none of the WR2s have truly stepped up (yet, anyway) and solidified themselves in that spot, I wouldn't be shocked if Dorsey goes out in the offseason and tries to sign a quality FA or draft a premium prospect WR.

Conley and Wilson have both disappointed IMO.

I still have no idea why Reid won't use Conley like he should. The guy has the highest vertical leap in combine history. We need to dial up some fades and crossing routes for him which is what he would excel at

I want to see us use Conley like we do Kelce. Throw the ball up and let him get it.

Conley and Wilson have both disappointed IMO.Conley averaged less than 30 receptions per season at Georgia, never landed more than 45 in any one year, so I'm not sure why anyone would have expected anything spectacular from him immediately. He was drafted on the strength of his workout numbers and the potential they indicate, rather than a high probability of stepping right into the NFL game. Particularly when you're talking about a team with the kind of WR responsibilities that Reid's system requires. That's why he went in the round that he did.

I think he signed Maclin once it became obvious that Bowe had nothing left, and combined with the fact that we had zero behind Bowe. Had Sanders signed, I wouldn't have been shocked to see us go after a lower priced receiver to pair with Sanders, or even perhaps to change course in the draft and pick one up there earlier rather than waiting for CC...

Yeah but that team had Todd Gurley and a replacement for Aaron Murray, so they were a run and grind team.

Conley showed major flashes. The fact that he went in round 3 was surprising. He should have went in the mid-to-late 2nd based on the combine alone.

Dorsey cut Bowe a year after we offered Sanders a contract...and not only gave Maclin the same contract they gave Bowe, they also moved up to draft Conley. That shows Dorsey has shown he would have still signed Maclin if he had gotten Sanders the previous year.

When?

Last week's Raiders game is one example.

Had he laid out his body, he would have had a TD. Instead, he stayed upright and Alex overthrew him.

Wilson plays "scared", like he's afraid to get injured. His career won't be productive if he continues to play that way.

This. Ball was definitely overthrown by a step, but receivers need to dive for balls like this that are just a little beyond them. At least make the attempt. I always tell my kid that "Yes, you're making all the catches you're supposed to make, now you need to catch the one's you're aren't supposed to make." Sometimes you gotta just layout. You catch it, you're the hero. You drop it, you get applauded for trying, you do nothing and everyone questions your effort. And at the professional level, one thing I think you should never be questioned for is your effort.

Ok, even with your cherry picking, Maclin has averaged 67 yards per game since week 6. With 4 games left, that would give him a total of 1135 yards for the season.

Also, you must have used some interesting rounding to get him 5 TDs in those last 4 games. I'm not sure how you pulled that off.

I was pissed on that play too, but Wilson is usually a high effort guy. I'd say that play was an aberration if anything. He's pretty tough- at least from what I've seen.

Also you have to factor in the fact that he's 5'9. Doubt he could extend that far anyways.
