No doubt. There were reports that McGregor had a knee injury during that fight as well. It's going to be a damn good fight.

Yeah, with McGregor its pretty simple. He has a huge reach advantage in that weight class, and he hits really fucking hard.

This is the story of the fight for me. Aldo has withering leg kicks, and his plan looks obvious to me. Conor is really dangerous to trade with, but with Conor's deep stance I don't see how he can effectively check the kicks. If Aldo kills Conor's lead leg, then he can patiently pick him apart. If Conor can somehow avoid the leg kicks, then with his left he's got a chance.

And I don't think McGregor is as scary taking him down as someone like Edgar is. No reason to not let those kicks fly.

There's a pretty good article (http://www.mmafighting.com/2015/11/27/9798748/the-night-we-faced-jose-aldo-ufc-194-conor-mcgregor) where Aldo's former opponents are talking about what happened when they fought Aldo. It gets funny in part 2 where they are talking about his leg kicks.

Kenny Florian lost all feeling on the inside of his leg for months. Another one of his former opponents went into the fight thinking "leg kicks don't hurt" and by the end he was doing anything to avoid them because he was terrified of Aldo's leg kicks. His legs are still messed up a bit 7 years later.

I think sometimes McGregor crosses the line. I think yanking the dude's belt at the press conference, and putting his hand on him from behind on the TV show set were moments where Dana has to get McGregor in check a bit. I mean, I understand he won't, because fight hype...but still. McGregor is coming off as very unlikable....but as we know, it sells fights, so more power to him. I just hope Aldo comes out and handles business.

He's been a real cockgobbler as coach on TUF. Still, I'm sure a lot of it's an act. It's good for him and the sport. Look who is the ESPN mma analyst.. Chael. It works

Also, nice OP, Al. You really did it up on that one.

A couple of notes after looking at the OP. It's hard to believe Weidman has only had five fights since the Munoz fight. That fight seems like it was forever ago. I still feel like I almost saw a Filipino man get killed that night.

I've admittedly moved away from MMA lately, and haven't really looked closely at this entire card, but man, the five televised fights are a killer lineup. The Halloway versus Stephens fight should be great. The card even has a BJJ battle on it with Nelson versus Maia. Let's hope for a fun night.

Yeah, I've watched some episodes here and there, and I agree, he's a real twat.

I kinda disagree with the Chael comparison, though. There was still a bit of a likable factor with Chael. With McGregor it's a constant douchy ball of energy. I needed a break after watching that highlight video that New World Order posted.

I actually agree that McGregor has played this well. It's a division with a long reigning, seemingly unbeatable champion. So, McGregor makes a spectacle of himself, while backing it up at every chance in the octagon. So, now you've got the unbeatable champion versus the brash challenger who's on a huge fucking streak. Great, great hype job. He's just so fucking unrelentless, though. I don't think dialing it down just a tad to retain some likability would be a bad idea. Just a tad.

Dillashaw has to get past Cruz first, which is no easy task. But, should TJ retain, I think the UFC would aim for that matchup.

Personally, I don't think Faber (especially the one that fought tonight) would give Dillashaw trouble, but you're right, it's really easy to sell and it is interesting.

EDIT: Not to take anything away from Saenz. I just thought Faber looked slow.

Also, Faber has been a loyal company man for so long, and is one of the most loved fighters in the UFC, at this point he's earned it. Even if we doubt his chances, the UFC has to give him a title shot.

I'm fine with him, but I'm biased. Joe Rogan has the greatest podcast in the world, so I'm a fan.

I do recognize that Rogan tends to have an underdog bias though, anytime the underdog is doing something other than shit the bed, he talks them up too much.
