He said it was a goal before the Alex trade.

This (to my untrained eye) does not appear to be an opinion.

My opinion: It's not the 1960s anymore and this whole conversation is dumb.

I like listening to Trent Green in the booth so he could take Lenny in on the radio but I hope we get some more years out of Lenny.

No, Alex is a mediocre QB.

You think Alex will do sports for Channel 9 in the future? That's the most realistic comparison.

To be clear, I am not saying Alex = Lenny. Lenny lost a Superbowl for KC before he won one. It is possible that he completed a few passes behind the line of scrimmage. Perhaps he even had a bad game or two.

When Andy made that statement, I thought he was setting the bar very high. It would take extraordinary circumstances for Alex to share equal footing in KC with Len Dawson. Joe Montana couldn't do it.

This turd averages a TD a game and never met a checkdown he didn't like.

We're comparing him to a guy who used to throw 2 TDs a game in the fucking 60s. And threw it down the field, jack.

It's a laughable comparison. They're polar opposites.

At the very least we can stop these very silly debates about who the better qb was between Alex and Cassel. It's Alex and it's not close.

We've been playing Martyball basically. Take care of the ball, badass defense, run a lot and high % throws.
Alex is the king at that shit. It's what he was built for.

And he was doing it better then any one else in SF during the Ravens game Harbaugh had the guts to know you cant win the big game with this Crap and replaced him with Kap 1st chance he got.

Yeah. Then he got ran out of town. Now Blaine Gabbert is their QB. Good move Harbaugh!!

How's that working out btw?

Kaepernick's $11.9 million in 2016 injury-guaranteed salary becomes fully guaranteed on April 1, and the team has until then to decide whether he's played his last down with the Niners. At least three teams inquired about him at this year's trade deadline, sources said, but no one could take on his salary midseason. San Francisco will explore trade options again this offseason, and it sounds like Kaepernick would welcome a fresh start, as well.

Oh, yeah...that's how.

I don't think it's been alot of high percentage throws lately.

Just tired, as a fan of this team, of constantly watching the same crap over and over. Yeah Alex Smith could be a servicable QB, I bet he wins (based on the last place schedule) at least 9 games his first season.

One QB bust 30 years ago and KC will not draft a QB in the first round. But we keep picking DL (both DT & DE) in the 1st round over and over (Sims, Dorsey, Jackson, Poe) and they either bust or do not live up to thier draft position. But by God let's clamor for another DL in the 1st again. Or better yet, let's draft a OT in the 1st.

We are stuck, baring an injury, with Alex Smith for at least 3 years. During this time the fan base will buy more tickets and merchandise and the parking lot will be filled again. It will be just like 1990's all over again. Clark will be happy, some fans will be happy and the Chiefs will still be in the same postition they are now, a good team and not a great team which is held back by the lack of play from the QB.

I'll root for them, just not going to drink the Kool Aid. Until this team gets serious in drafting and developing a starting QB of its own and gives up picking up other team's scraps I'm done being a die hard fan.

Lenny couldn't scramble like Alex "Crazylegs" Smith, so I guess there are SOME differences.
