Bowe had a tendency to jump for a catch(spectacular!) when he didn't need to, and that appears to contribute to his momentum towards OOB....:(

Rocked?

He has had a good season, and been a big part of the push to the playoffs this team is making, but to say has "rocked" is a bit enthusiastic.

That's the way it is around here with some. Either a player sucks, or he is amazing. Especially with Alex. He clearly has had flaws this year, some that better teams will expose. He also has, as you said, been a big reason the team turned it around. He stepped his game up. It's just that he is never going to be a guy that can carry a team.

**** you guys. Alex Smith is a solid dude.

Merry Christmas pillowbiters.

You know what I love about Alex Smith?

I love the fact that he doesn't turn the ball over.

I love it from that factor alone he gives us a chance to win.

It comes with a large side of not exciting, and sometimes infuriating... but after a win, it becomes easier to appreciate. If a loss? then it becomes highlighted all the more.. so it's a calculated gamble..

.. but a gamble that has elicited a 47-21-1 win/loss record over the last 5 years.

With OLs that are poor in pass pro... or just consistently brokedick/carousel.. and all of the bleh WR corps until now... that may just deserve a :thumb:

Bowe was overrated because we just didn't have anything else.

Hopeful those days are gone now.

No reason to not keep Dorsey for a long, long, long time

Well there we go :thumb:

The record speaks everything we need to know. I've come to accept Alex Smith as a risk averse QB but he is also a smart QB.

I hear ya in a sense where being conservative is not exciting. But, that's the beauty of wins. Sometimes they're beautiful, terrific, fantastic, whatever and on the other hand, they can be downright boring and dull. Winning comes in different forms. Sometimes when we lose, it's like **** why didn't our QB take shots down field for a big play or TD that could've changed the momentum and made a difference in the game. That's frustrating.

Bottomline though, what he is doing is winning us games. And the wins outweigh the losses or lack of gambles taken.

There are 10 -12 QBs I'd take over Alex Smith anyday but what I do appreciate from Alex Smith is that he contributes to a winning formula. Last year our problem was we couldn't generate enough turnovers on defense. This year Dorsey resolved that issue on the defense. As a result, we created a larger turnover margin for ourselves which ranks up there with the best in the league. That increases our chances of being a champion. Go Chiefs!!PBJ

No, Alex is not Brady but the supporting cast matters.
