Sucks a fat dick.

Southwest delayed my flight 5 hours and then cancelled it last night (fuck them for waiting 5hours to cancel it. We got on and off the plane 3 times). There were no spots on any Sunday flights and there was 130ish people waiting to speak with the people at the counter because they cancelled two flights to Dallas at the same time so a Monday flight was unlikely as well.

So I was forced to rent a car and fucking drive. To avoid the snow in Kansas I went down 71 and then into Tulsa and then 69 highway through Oklahoma.

Fucking trailer parks and floods were all I saw the entire way.

So fuck Oklahoma.

Southwest was my saving ****ing grace on my return trip from Vienna this summer (for work). Got stuck at O'Hare because apparently a light rain is cause to shut the entire ****ing thing down, then after six hours of standby for four different flights into KC, I finally hopped the L, blue line-orange line combo to Midway about 24 hours into my trip, and then waited for three consecutive Southflights that were delayed due to far worse weather than when I was waiting at O'Hare. Southwest got us out by 12:45, in by 2 am. THAT was my longest work travel day.. just shy of 30 hours. Would've been far longer if not for Southwest; there wasn't a vacant hotel room in the entire ****in city because it was also the night of game 7 of the Stanley Cup in Chicago. Christ I hope I never go through that again

What parts, if I may ask? Serious question.

I lived in northern Oklahoma for 4 or 5 months as a little kid, and I have only a few memories of it:

1. Oppressive heat. It was a failed job change for my dad, and our place didn't have any air conditioning. It was brutal. We started out in a second-floor apartment that apparently doubled as a convection oven and then moved to a house that better dissipated the sweat.

2. Unpleasant schools. They had some rules at recess that prohibited us from having fun, so we pretty much just walked around in the oppressive heat like it was a prison yard.

3. Native Americans. They didn't look at all like the ones I saw on television.

4. My first view of female genitalia. When I was at the convenience store, an older girl rode up on her bike, stopped, and lost her balance. She fell awkwardly and was wearing a dress with no underwear. Instead of the normal view of London and France, I saw the Chunnel and a lifelong interest was born.

Overall, based on these four memories, I have very fond remembrances of Oklahoma. But I don't remember beautiful landscapes.

The most obvious part is what's called the "green country" in ne oklahoma. I've also spent a lot of time in nw oklahoma on the sand dunes, which is surrounded by a lot of quasi-desert scenery. Lake texoma is freaking amazing too.

Okc to Dallas is a pretty drive in summer. Arbuckle Mountains, pretty native rangelands. Great people. Then you hit The Dallas Ft Worth metro and its all shit. I have friends we visit every year about 30 miles north of Ft Worth. Great area. But if Ft Worth burned to the ground it would just make Texas better. People who live there have a crap outlook for a reason. More assholes per square mile than anywhere on earth. Mostly ilegals ans metal recyclers and autoparts stores selling parts from stripped stolen cars. Whores and crackheads.

If you go down there the right time of year it liiks like where the hobbits lived in those movies. Green, green, and more green.

Oklahoma is just like everywhere else. If it wasn't for the people, it would be a great place to live.

Dallas airport ****ed everything up last night with that tornado. I was supposed to land in Dallas at 415 yesterday afternoon and got stuck in the plane on the Tarmac in San Antonio til 11:30 last night. Being stuck on a plane for over 8 hours is no fun when you're 6' 7. Waited in line for 4 hours this morning just for American Airlines to tell me the earliest they could get me to Amarillo was on Tuesday. Shitty day to travel but at least it was for business and I got paid for every second of it. Felt bad for all the families on vacation. Don't understand why they couldn't just fly into the tornado. It's the 21st century. Let's make these damn planes tornado proof.

Sorry it just seems wrong to shit on another state because of an airline's, or perhaps even the FAA's, decision.
