Story in today's NY Times. He was 83 and played literally all over the globe.

RIP

The Globetrotters don't seem all that popular anymore, but as a kid in the 70s and 80s they were the shiznit.

Saw them at Municipal as a kid. Used to watch the cartoon and try to draw their van!

He was a fantastic entertainer. Could sink half court hook shots all day every day.

My Dad took our family to Madison Square Garden to watch them play once. was pretty neat back in the 70's.

He used to live near my house; would see him walking his dog in the mornings...never talked to him but waved as I drove by on my way to work...always smiled and waved back.

Those classic lineups with Lemon, Curly Neal, Geese Ausbie, etc. They were on Wide World of Sports every year, had the cartoon.

Saw them at Municipal as a kid.

We saw them twice in Municpal, early 60's and then later 60's, they were the reason I started playing basketball as a kid.
