Was that ever explained? It looked like he was staring up at the goal post after the ball was snapped and missed the snap altogether.

LS messed up. It was suppose to be a pooch punt but the LS instead snapped it to Colquitt instead of Santos

This guy must be one of the coaches and his reaction was priceless.

penbrook is correct. I caught a little of Andy Reid's post game press conference. I did hear him say it was supposed to be a pooch punt. It was a play called at the LOS. Apparently, the snapper didn't get the call.

Weird play but still have faith in Santos. . been pretty consistent for us

Didn't just play at Mizzou, but has his number retired and was the all-time leading rusher.

Neither did Colquitt evidently. He sat it down for Santos to kick for like a full second before tossing it back...

He was literally supposed to just sit there and wasn't expecting to have anything to do with the play at all. He may have, for a split second, thought that Santos would have to just kick it anyway and didn't want to move until he was sure Santos he wasn't gonna go all "Charlie Brown and Lucy" on him.

Darn. I would have enjoyed seeing that. But he made a good pass to Sherman.

Made at the LOS? By whom? That's a coach decision.

Andy Reid talked like it was set up beforehand to be checked at the LOS, I'm assuming if the Raiders lined up a certain way.

Good point. I hadn't thought of that. But it makes sense. Why else would Santos just stand there? He's never, ever given any indication that he's inept.

Given the fact that he's Brazilian, he probably doesn't have a lot of football instincts. I suspect that he froze up because he didn't know what to do. It was a one-time glitch and won't happen again, in my opinion.

If Reid is telling the truth, then he might have been the only one that had the correct reaction.

In the replay you could see Santos' hands react at the snap indicating he was expecting a direct snap.

the coaching staff will try to spin this, but santos pulled a wiry kicker. i owe debts and i will throw a game. santos will lose the chiefs a game

he stuttered at the kick twice, on a great spot.

That was my initial thought...Colquitt saw that it was going to be blocked, so he pulled the snap at the last minute and tossed it to Santos. The blocking on that FG attempt was not good at all.

Regardless he should have just attempted to kicked the damn ball. Looked so stupid just standing there. Like a deer in the headlights.

Eh, technically he saved us about 15 yards by getting a few yards out of it.

He went total dur dur dur for a full 2 seconds. Even though it wasn't supposed to be it was a good snap he could have gave it a shot. We shouldn't even be talking about this though. That damn penalty was costly. Shouldn't have been a 6 point game.

Not sure I agree. Santos did the right thing. Kicking is such a bang-bang play that if you're not jumping into the kick right away, it's already too late and it's a good thing he didn't panic and kick it anyway. And the reason he hesitated even slightly is because they ran the wrong play. Reid's explanation makes it sound like this was on Winchester.

If he kicks that ball it's a blocked field goal fumble recovery for a touchdown.

I know I listened to the press conference. You're probably right easier said than done but damn we looked stupid.

Guys why all the negativity?? Santos threw a beautiful ball to Sherman. Definently better than Alex
