This play/formation was awesome. Lined Ware up at FB. with West in the backfield, and had Wilson coming in motion to fake the jet sweep and keep the defense honest. Great blocking. Too easy.

If they had run that play earlier it could have been a huge play.

It was supposed to be a pooch punt, snapped directly to Santos. Snapper screwed up. I wouldn't worry too much about that play call.

Do I see something that is not there with Ware? That man is a beast, He is always pushing through a pile of guys for extra yards. Has Ware not outperformed West?

I am legit curious.

I just think they're completely different runners that really complement each other well. West is a shifty guy who can find a tiny bit of room to squeak through a couple blocks and make guys miss. Ware is a bruiser who will punish guys with downhill running and pushing the pile.

The best possible scenario is West dominating in the first half so that we can just lean on Ware and let him wear down the defense in the second. That's pretty close to what happened last week.

Reid even said no one can replace Charles. He's one of a kind. Charles is definently coming back

This is exactly how we lost the 1971 Christmas Day game against the Dolphins. A fake FG screwed up by a long snapper (Bobby Bell no less!) who missed the call.

In the playoffs I worry about everything.

Kinda seemed like they were being a lot more loose with the playbook, they never played Oakland seriously. I think they were practicing with wreckless abandon until the two straight interceptions.

It was a steamroll, then they shut it down when cute plays made them look stupid.

This team runs the jet sweep really well.

Wish we would run that play a little more. Would probably open up this play even more.

Really? I think they get blown the **** up every time they use it. Seems like that shit play has killed a lot great drives. How many times have they fumbled on that play?

It averages 5 ypc. You normally expect more than 5 yards from your gadget plays.

I would be okay with them never running that play again.

Wilson sucks, he's usually the one that gets blown up....when this team runs it w/ Maclin...usually goes for a good gain....almost scored with it in yesterday's game v OAK.

Didn't they run that play and have it stuffed on 3rd down later in the game? I like the play, it's worked a number of times. Just curious.

Wilson 5.2 ypc
Maclin 4.7 ypc

Carry on.

Didn't Maclin almost score on a jet sweet this week?

Yes 18 yard gain.

The other 2 times he ran it this year he lost a total of 4 yards. That play sucks.

Yes, but that is one of the few times that I have seen it not get blown up.

Even when it doesn't work it still makes the defense have to respect it and that's when you get easy runs like this.

It's a drive staller and doesn't cause the defense to respect shit. It pumps them up when they shut it down.

I believe that play was 1 or 2 plays before this one. Kinda set it up really because Oakland had just been burned by it.

Yes

It was perfectly executed, I won't deny that it was sexy.

But it was a high risk play that they were using against an opponent that they didn't respect.

I think there is some truth to that...KC will have a good game plan on Saturday.

I don't know why they'd do that when you could just have Colquitt come pin them inside the 10. If they really wanted to punt I mean.

It was definitely a well designed and executed play. Anytime your back can half run/walk it in from the 3 it worked out.

Right, but we'd rather play the field position game up by 13 than try to make it a 16 point game? No faith in the kicker on a 40 yarder. I guess, if we missed, I'd be screaming, too, but I hope we don't pooch punt in the playoffs. I want to get the TD, get the first down, get the FG, or have our regular punt coverage out there.

The jet motion got the linebackers to take a false step, allowing blockers to get angles easier.

The jet is normally part of a packaged play based on numbers iirc, Sorter or Sully could confirm?

Exactly - what was the benefit?

From that distance, Colquitt can put it high enough to ensure there's no chance to return it. Moreover, it wasn't an unmakeable FG.

The whole thing just seemed cute for cute's sake. Like someone else said in this thread, the coaching staff seemed to be using that 2nd half as a high-speed practice and not a lot else.
