Which team had the worst loss this weekend?

Bengals with the complete meltdown giving the steelers the game

Or

Vikings about to get out of the subzero temperatures with a last second chip shot field goal and their kicker blows it

JoeyChuckles

Texans cause they got steam-rolled by Alex Smith at home.

Bengals, and it's not even close. That's a historic loss.

Kickers miss, it happens. What Cincy did was wholly avoidable.

Brock

Either one of those would be very infuriating

But a kicker missing one is forgivable after a few years. Half of a team just going full retard isn't.

Two personal fouls to put the Steelers in FG range?

No brainer!

Guess there is video of Burfict kneeing BR's shoulder.

Bengals... I'm in Louisville, just 1 1/2 hr away from Cincy and have a lot of Cincy friends, they are hurt and whining that the Steelers are historically the dirtiest team in the NFL, like they are the Raiders or something...

Bengals because of the 25 year playoff win drought factor.

The vikings had a comeback attempt fail, the Bengals had the game won and gave it away in a fashion that seriously tarnished the image of the franchise and maybe the NFL in the mind of some. The behavior of the fans and the team that night goes beyond any sort of on-field failure and associated shame.

The Bengals are now where we were in 1998.
The Vikings are where they always were when they were decent. At worst, where we were 90-91.

Bengals by a mile.

How is this even a question? Bengals by a mile. The Bengals meltdown was all-time bad. Greek tragedy.

The Bengals game made me thought of the Monday Night Meltdown.

The Vikings game made me thought of the Indy/Chiefs game at Arrowhead.

Glad that we aren't this one.

Single games basis, yes. But they're earlier in their [re]development process.

To me, as a fan, it's the Vikings. Maybe I commiserate too much because of '95, but if I was a fan of the Bengals, I'd be more mad than sad.

Its hard to feel bad for the Bengals because they brought it on themselves. That team is trash and should be treated as such.

I feel worse for the Vikings so I voted for them, but both of those games would be devastating if I was a fan of the teams.

Bengals is more of an embarrassment.

Vikings - laces out! I feel bad for their fans.

Bengals shot themselves in their own foot- not once but twice.

Does this mean we can take off the "the kicker that shall go unnamed" autocorrect now?

That's what makes it worse IMO. Was such a simple task at hand that they lucked out of to end the season. Even after Peterson coughed it up they just needed to make a chip shot. Horrible, horrible way to lose.

He didn't miss A kick. He missed 3. That doesn't wash off.

I agree with this post. Pissed if I was a Bengals fan, heartbroken and shocked as a Vikings fan.

Bengals.

Minnesota is still building and young. They can grow from this, plus they will have a shiny new building to play in.

Cincy is established. They are who they are. And that loss (and the way it happened) was wholly attributable to the who. They sign idiots, and idiots lose games.

Easily the Bungles. Kicking a frozen stone is not easy, surprised at some of the FGs made earlier in that game, then the short one gets missed.

I guess I'm measuring 'worse' as 'harder to recover from' instead of 'less fair' or some other definition.

It may be because I'm a woman, but I chose Minnesota. IMO, it was much more heartbreaking. You're right there with 25 seconds left to go kicking a chip shot (granted, it was in freezing weather). You're basically expecting to win at that point, and it's ripped away by a single kick. With the Bengals, they just started showing attitude and getting unnecessary personal fouls to give the game away.

I can see how others would think the Bengals loss is worse. Basically unnecessarily giving a game away versus missing a FG in freezing weather. For me, it was just the high expectation and hope that went so late into the game.

I feel bad for the Vikings fans, but the Cincy loss to be worse. At least their game was actually decided on the field. Minnesota should have a bright future ahead of them and I doubt any of their fans expected them to win next week against Arizona. Cincy had enough talent to play with anyone and they blew yet another home playoff game to their rival by giving the game away during dead ball time.

I'm not sure which is worse, but I'm glad I'm not a fan of either franchise. I'm still feeling the high of a 30-0 win to end our playoff win drought.

In keeping with my earlier comment, I'd accede that MN might be more painful in the moment. Cinci opened up what looks to be a long period of pain.

You lose a fair game, you pick yourself up and try to do better tomorrow, or next season.
You immolate like Cinci and you bring up long lasting ghosts and sideways glances.

One reflects on who you were that moment. The other reflects what your character is, much more persistent.
