I don't think there is any single coach who has done more to sabotage his career potential as a head coach.

Take the job in Oakland with Al Davis, get fired, work back into consideration, only to take the Cleveland Browns job.

you would think him being a coordinator with the Bengals and already seeing the teams in that division he would know the Browns have no chance against the Steelers, Bengals or Ravens until the end of time

Bad to worse for Bengals fans, not that they deserve any sympathy

Just wait until he trades 3 #1 draft picks for Andy Dalton...

The Browns couldn't happen to a nicer guy.

Insane. I guess with lower expectations comes less stress. The giants are no where near as bad as their record they lost many close games. I think the giants job is going to be a great gig for someone. They don't need a roster overhaul just a few tweaks.

Well. The Browns gave him a heavy say in personnel. He's already made it clear he wants nothing to do with billy manziel. He's getting Josh Gordon back and can take his choice of qb at two. He got the raiders to 8-8. I believe he's the right guy.

Do former Browns head coaches have a nice beach front home that they just hand off to the next guy so they can chill while collecting years 3-5 on their contracts?

he got the Raiders to 8-8 in a year the AFC West was horrible. That was when Denver had Tebow, Chargers had Rivers, and the Chiefs had Mark Castle, Kyle Orton and friends.

Hue Jackson had Carson Palmer and couldnt win. Sad really.

It would seem that way

Truth be told, that's probably the best hire they could score.

It is. But still 8-8 for the raiders? With that much dysfunction in a franchise is still pretty good.

Why would Jackson go there?

I thought he had several options.

Roster control and the second pick in the draft where he can pick his qb.

Guys named Hue or Hugh Jackson make questionable decisions in free agency.

hes going to a franchise with even more dysfunction, no QB and in a way harder division than what he had to play when he coached the Raiders.

It seems strange. Probably his last shot at HC.

Pretty sure it was Hue Jackson, he somehow got personnel control in Oakland and he traded a 1st and 2nd round pick to Cincy for Palmer. I remember this place having a good laugh about it. He sacrificed their future, all he could do was one 8-8 season with a win now QB in a very weak division, and then was fired.

I'm pretty sure Hue helped put the Raiders in salary cap hell that took Reggie Mckenzie like 2 years to get out of.

Nods. But who is going to know the Bengals better? I definitely think the other teams in the division are on the way down.
