Two weeks? A month?

I'm not sure he is going to. He was making noises about wanting to continue earlier this season.

Really though, he could take his place beside the commentators on NFL on CBS and have a nice, cushy, one day a week job.

I forget the exact date, but at some point in early March a decision has to be made or there's a big cap charge. I think he has until March 4th or something around that time. My guess is he has a press conference about a week or 2 after the parade in Denver, let it settle down a bit and right around the 20th, he'll announce.

Nothing left to prove. Nothing left to offer. It's all over but the paperwork.

Because they usually are.

Sometimes that true, but the post today and others recently were not.

Not soon enough.

I just hope smellway doesnt manage to snake in on Brees somehow, its time for dinver to see how most of the rest of the league lives for awhile.

But someone will throw $10m+ at him. If he thinks he can still manage a game, I'd bet he'll have the option.

I can't imagine anything other than retirement... you don't get to exit like this in most cases.

Why Not?

As long as it's before 2/20. We have neighborhood poker that night and I bet my neighbor $10 Peyton retires. That's good for a buy in.

The good news is they lose Payed-a-Ton and pick last in the draft...

They luckily won but he had zero to do with any of it the whole season. He was shot from day one all the way through. No doubt the worst year a QB champ ever had.

Yeah. It wouldn't even surprise me if he played for Donk again. I'd put the odds at 40/60 he retires/comes back.

But someone will give him a shot because the NFL personnel guys are largely retarded.

He has to retire. If he backpedals from his deal with the league, he'll get pounded by 300-pound linemen in every game next year. They won't protect him any more.

yup, playing like a turd for most of the season...laying out part of the season to a lame ailment....his defense carrying his sorry hide through the playoffs and SB....you are correct.

For some franchises, it won't be about the on-field performance.
Manning will sell tickets, jerseys, and a bit of hope. If you look outside the perceived top 10-15 starting qbs in the league and then realize that after that you have collective shit, then Peyton Manning doesn't look so bad.

That being said, I think Manning retires. He will make plenty of more money from Budweiser and Papa John.

Question is, will be go into Canton as a Colt or a Bronco? Or both.

He'll probably do both in some way.

I'm just glad we got to send him off with a 0.00 on his resume.

By the way did anybody catch his comment after the game . He said he was going to drink a whole lot of Budweiser last night. I think he needs to go in rehab and the hgH thingy now has legs. He's obviously a closet alcoholic.

March 8th he gets cut by Denver. Mid-August he announces his retirement finally.

There is no such thing. You go into the HOF as a person. Any team you play for will be listed on equally.

There's a small question of whether he RETIRES as a Bronco or Colt, but I really doubt he'd snub the Broncos at this point by pretending like he was a Colt at heart all along.

Manning won't get cut. Archie and the league would have a fit. He'll "announce his retirement" before any roster stuff forces a decision.
