Yesterday was a little tough

My grandmother passed away at the age of 93. Yes, I know she lived a full life. Yes, I know it was her time as her health has been failing for some time. Still hurts the same.

This miraculous woman has been there with me through thick and thin. My mother passed away at the age of 17 and she just assumed the role. Always gave without question (in fact at the age of 80 unloading donations is what hurt her back and caused her health to begin to decline). Up until the Joplin tornado she volunteered at St. Paul's and at St. John's hospital (during the tornado she lost her duplex, St. John's was destroyed). Then she moved to Grove, OK where she lived independently until about 6 months ago and had to go to a nursing home where she lived out her days despite multiple options of places to stay because she wanted to maintain some assemblance of her independence.

Rest in Peace Grandma Mary.
