We don't recognize it because we prefer the early sunset. Due to the hot summer weather. Keeps us a bit warmer in the winter as well.

Saves electricity as well, as we use a lot. In fact, a 2008 report from the U.S. Department of Energy said sticking with one time could save approximately 0.5% of electricity per day for the country . That's enough power for 100,000 households over a year.

Did you know that heart attacks jump 25% in the few days following a time switch?

And a 2009 Michigan State University published by the American Psychological Association study showed that DST has adverse effects on the American workplace.

"Following [the start and end of DST], employees slept 40 min less, had 5.7% more workplace injuries, and lost 67.6% more work days because of injuries than on non phase change days," explained the study, which looked at mining injuries between 1983 and 2006 from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health.

And not all of AZ is exempt from DST.

I would expect that to normalize, even if he somehow does it for a whole year.

It's possible the uptick in velo is causing more weak contact and popups. It's also likely summer at the Cell will even the rate out.

10 percent is league average. 8.5 percent is really good. 1.5 percent is unsustainable.

Just catching up - we have guests in town and was entertaining during the game - but a really strong opening game of the series for KC.

That offensive rally in the sixth was classic Royals. Contact, contact, contact, two-out hitting, etc.

Gee has been what I thought he could be for KC... A strike thrower who takes advantage of the KC defense and gobbles up innings. He is Good Guthrie, basically, so far.

Also really impressed with the White Sox defensive upgrades, seeing it live. Eaton's ability to cover ground is a real asset in RF, Saladino is really good at SS, and they're much better st 3B/2B, too. Jackson in CF is an upgrade from Eaton there, too.
