Road trip to Fayetteville to buy a tuba. Looking for a lunch spot around mid-day.

More interested in a popular Fayetteville spot than a particular type grub.

I was over there a couple months back and ate here:

http://woodstonecraftpizza.com/

Good food, a bit pricey. Definitely noisy, tuba players might not mind it.

I'm kinda tasted up for some catfish. Maybe some fried okra on the side.

The guy selling the tuba is going to meet me at the restaurant. I'm bringing a guitar and battery powered amp in hopes that he can play a couple tunes w/me so I can hear what it sounds like.

Possible mini-concerto for any attendees.

Man you really plan your tuba-buying trips in advance. I guess if you gotta see a man about a Tuba, better come prepared.

I haven't been in forever, and my recollection may be skewed because it was my grandma's favorite [she lived in North Louisiana, and some summers we'd bring her up for an extended visit, we'd always have to stop on the way between her home and ours in KC, whether coming or going].

It's a regional mainstay, and mostly just a good solid homestyle restaurant. More kinds of chicken dishes than you can shake a fist at. I ate the pan fried, my grandma usually got the chicken and dumplings.

Bob Dole is driving the 7 hours back south Friday, then not heading back north until Monday. These old bones need some rest between jaunts these days.

That place is great, over the coals!

The sides aren't great, but the chicken is better than what you can find in SEK.

Don't go to aq chicken. Nothing special. Hugo's is overrated. Art's place has a good burger. Smokey pool hall type place. Catfish hole is good. Sassy's is my favorite BBQ in Fayetteville. Good size portions and reasonably priced. Pulled pork dinner is my go to meal. Penguin Ed's is good as well but I would go to sassy's. Green submarine has the best sandwich I have ever had. Anything there is good. Hammondtrees is unique. Not to die for though.

I'm at the beach this week. Not sure what kind of food you like, but Hugo's is a classic Fayetteville joint as is Herman's. Feltner Brothers is good five guys style burgers and shakes. Tacos 4 Life is decent though I call it Tacos 4 Whites because it's gringo AF. Burrito Loco is awesome if you want a legit taqueria. Farmer's Table is good farm to table faire. Woodstone Pizza has great gourmet pies but Tim's on the square is more traditional. Apple Blossom is a decent microbrewery with good food. Alternatively, Columbus House is a decent brewery with a great food truck on site in Natural State Sandwiches.

Wow! Thanks, guys.

This gives me a lot to chew on. Much 411 to digest. Food for thought and what-not.
