I know.. but releasing Infante gives me hope they can spot a shit signing and eliminate it. I would be willing to bet that when Kennedy is pitching it puts a strain on the offense, knowing they have to score 5-7 runs to have a chance.

Yeah that helps a little. Butterfly wings and all. Maybe they don't get all fired up in Houston and go out in game 4. I still can't believe that inning happened. Every day that goes by it seems more and more unbelievable.

I had long before planned a trip back to KC to see some old friends - leaving the day after game 4. We were really looking forward to Royals playoffs. Then we were this close to being all bummed out and mopey the whole trip. Instead we got to go to game 5 and have a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and watch the first two Toronto games on TV together.

I am also thankful Salvy didn't come up with one out and still pop-out. That would be crushing. Salvy hitting a homer just foul or to the wall would be crushing too.

Jerok
07-15-2016, 07:24 PM
These next two weeks before the trade deadline are huge. If we lose a bunch, we may not consider buying, maybe even sell.

Consider selling off Volques and Morales, we could recoup most of our losses from last year.

Al, I fear you are really taking this too hard. Whit is ok at 2nd base; he'll never be a Gold Glover, but he's ok. Actually, his real value is that he can play anywhere. He needs to be a utility guy, but he's still a decent second baseman.

Stinking Soria should have made that play. Period.

Just not the same team as last two years. Injuries (and maybe two long Octobers?) have taken there toll on this team.

Even if we don't make it to the playoffs this year (which is looking pretty likely), some young guys got some valuable playing experience and we will be re-loaded and ready to go next year.

Never thought we'd miss Vargy so much. Be nice to have his consistency back next year. We'll just need to find another starter to replace Volquez.

If they are serious about making a run next year I would see what it would take to get Dozier from the Twins. They aren't likely to compete before his contract is up or he declines at age 29 now. He is also on a silly low contract.
