Hypothetical situation here, at the suggestion of Coochie Liquor. (Oh, hey, I just figured out his username.)

Ignoring the fact they're a tax-evading sham "nonprofit", you go to Ikea and buy a new trombone storage unit for your Glen Miller collection. It's of course unassembled, and you can't figure out how the part goes in that stores the spit valves, so you call the help line.

You press 1 for English, then press 4 for assembly assistance, then press 7 for musical instrument collection storage equipment assistance, then press 5 for trombone collection storage equipment assistance, then press 0 to talk to a live person. You wait for a few moments to the background tune of Abba's "Dancing Queen", and then a person answers. That person is of the gender that you are attracted to.

The person speaks very clear English with a pleasant voice, but with a notable accent. What are the THREE accents that you find most sexy?

My normal speaking voice is an American accent. It automatically changes to British if I speak with or get around my family, or other Brits (or even empire to a lesser extent). Some Americans can hear my British accent even when I'm speaking like an American, but not many. I can also turn it on at will, or when requested.

My family has never heard my American accent "live" although one of my brothers thinks it's hilarious to call my mobile and get my voicemail, which is with my American accent. "You sound like a fucking used car salesman!!!"

LMAO

He never learned to speak like an American. He's kind of a dick.

Growing up I noticed that the kids in the area about a mile east of where I lived, had a different accent. They pronounced their vowels differently and had a slightly different cadence.

Eventually, they joined our school for Junior High. I learned the nuances and could do a dead on impression after a while.

Years later, I was in a job interview in a different city and heard the same accent from the hiring manager, (10 years my senior). It turns out he he grew up in the epicenter of the accents origin. I was a shoe in for the job but I slipped in the accent to be sure to secure the gig.

That was probably my favorite 3 years of work. It was a naturally great pairing but the fact that we both grew up in the same area made the bond a bit stronger.

American Minnesota, easily. I went to college in Dubuque, Iowa. That is located in Northeast Iowa on the border of Illinois and Wisconsin. Dubuquians tend to have an accent that derives from a Minnesota accent... Some of the people at my college were actually from Minnesota...Minnesotans and Dubuquians sound alike. Anyways, that accent is cute as hell...I dated many girls from Dubuque that have that accent and my longtime roommate's girlfriend was a Minnesotan. Very cute accent.

It's kind of funny that Australian is leading this poll. I google searched what other countries think of American accents...If it is one group that hates our accents, it's the Australians.
