The Los Angeles Rams have locked up wide receiver to a four-year contract extension, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported.

Per Rapoport, the deal is worth $42 million with $30 million in guarantees. Austin is now under contract for six years.

Around The NFL will have more on this shortly.

$10 million per for a guy who's best season was 53 catches for 473 yards and 5 TD's?

The guy has 9 TD's total in three years.

No wonder the Rams have sucked for more than a decade.

Jeebus. Who is his agent? Hopefully no chiefs have that agent. That is straight up RAPE.

42M for 4 or 6 years? This might be the question.

Oof. Brutal. 473 yards receiving at NINE-POINT-ONE yards per catch last year.

You don't pay someone this kind of money for the 400 yards of gadget rushing he also gave. Brutal.

Pick in the top 10 and has amounted to nothing so far. Way to much money.

The Rams have won 7 games in 3 of the last 4 seasons, with 6 wins 2 years ago.
You just can't match that kind of consistency.

Gotta reward the players who have contributed to that consistency.

They've already extended the coach.

This isn't accurate.

He had his best season in 2015 with 473 yards and 5 TDs receiving but also added another 450 yards and 4 TDs rushing.

He's also got 19 career TDs.

Yep and hopefully they integrate him more in the offense because that is a lot of $$ for a guy who is very talented all the way around who was definitely not used enough but then Jeff Fisher is a RB first kind of guy and maybe this is a sign they will use Austin more. I would think so.

Yes you wonder how Fisher has kept his job all these years.

Okay, so 900 yards of total offense = $10 million per?

That's ludicrous.

it's sad. This kid has a tremendous amount of talent, he'd be great in KC, NE, or NO. KC should have traded him.. he was more explosive than Hill in college and I believe more than DAT as well.

Never said that.

I don't think he's earned that contract but the guy did contribute 900 yards and 9 TDs on just over 100 offensive touches. He was pretty efficient last season.

I guess they feel last season was a sign of things to come.
