What the best restaurant around the P&L and specifically by the Hilton President in KC?

There's no outstanding restaurant in the P&L. Get on the new streetcar, take it south to Union Station, go to Lydia's or Manny's or Jack Stack BBQ. All just a few minutes on the streetcar.

I need some back story. Is this a job interview? A wedding proposal? A meeting up of old friends from the Peace Corps?
And actually, I know nothing about restaurants in that area. I'm just kind of nosy.

This, I can't think of anything in P&L that isn't an (overrated) chain. Flying Saucer may be worth a shot.
Streetcar is a great idea, not only to Union Station/freight house district but you can take it north to River Market where there are some great places (Le Fou Frog, Farmhouse, Il Lazzarone, Vietnam Café, Garrozzos)

Or Brown & Loe that just opened.
Also on the streetcar line are Tannin Wine Bar, Affare, and the Rieger Hotel.

Brown and Loe has a best feel the cocktails were really good. The food seems decent I only had some soup the only time I have been my table mates enjoyed their food.

The half off chicken a la mere Tuesday's was always one of the better deals in KC if you gave no fucks about blowing up your weekly caloric intake on a Tuesday. It came with a one drink minimum requirement, so that always meant their Bermuda Triangle for me.
