Thank god I drafted Spencer Ware late in my FF draft

Thread title is misleading. He's not officially out.

No worries, there is plenty of talent behind him... more than enough to handle the Chargers

given we know west and ware are capable, this is a smart move. whereas the uncertainty of dee fords production has us worried. and he is not out, just not starting.

I think it's a great approach. It's a long season and there's no reason to rush him back.

Qualifier: Teicher is the one reporting this.

While it is entirely possible this is true, I'm certainly not gonna believe it from Adam, the know nothing dick bag.

I'll believe it when the Chiefs release an official statement about it or Andy says it.

Till then . . . . . . .

Andy said a day or 2 ago that Charles hadn't earned the starting position back and that Ware was the starter at the moment.

This is a deep team that has a chance to go deep in the playoffs, I have no problem with them bringing injured guys along slowly. Let's make sure there aren't any setbacks...especially when we have a shot to go deep in the postseason and last year got ended prematurely due to injuries when we needed our heavy hitters the most.

Hopefully they are gonna try to have everybody back for the playoffs and we have enough ammo to get there.

Me too, I drafted 8th and still got Julio Jones because someone took Charles and other poor picks. I love Charles but Ware will steal TD's so I got Ware in the second last round bc my league is full of dumb people

Which of course is not at all the same as saying he's out, so yeah I think you're getting what you deserve here. Your thread title is very misleading.

If Charles isn't starting, then logic says that we now have the two best running backs to ever play in the NFL.

Ive got zero problems with this.

In fact Ware should be the starter with limited carries for Charles the majority of the year. At least until the playoff run.

So he's been practicing, going full speed by all accounts - and Adam Teicher is the only one reporting that he may not be ready for Week 1?

Yeah, not concerned.

They'll give him a few touches to knock off the rust.

Better to do it against the soft ass Charges than the Texans.

Trent Green was saying that the Chiefs anticipate Charles being ready Week 1 during the broadcast tonight. Teicher is an idiot who likes to stir the pot.

Q: Do you have a plan for this weekend with Jamaal Charles, Eric Berry, and Tamba Hali?

REID: “I would tell you that, in that order, Eric Berry would be ready to go, Tamba second and Jamaal might need some more time to get himself back.”

Q: So you don’t see [Jamaal] playing against the Chargers?

REID: “I’m not saying that, but of the three, he’s the furthest away. We’ll see how he does after a couple days off here.”

FloridaMan88

Chiefs offense has been and will be just fine without Jamaal Charles.

He is a $6 million salary cap waste at this point, that is the cold reality of his situation. He'll never be the player that he was... 29 years old and two major knee injuries.

Reid's quote I just saw on nfl network sounds more like Jamal got benched...

"Might not be ready week 1 will evaluate after a couple days to see where he is at"

At this point he should be ready.

You need to look at the record book for the average yards per carry.

You will be shocked I'm sure.

That average yards per carry stat doesn't mean jack shit for the current version of Jamaal Charles, who is a a 29 year old RB with two major knee injuries during the past five years.

Also perhaps you missed the fact that the Chiefs were 1-5 last year with Charles and his record average yards per carry statistic, and finished 11-1 without him, including ranking 6th in the NFL in rushing yardage per game and 9th in scoring per game.

This confirms my point that the Chiefs were fine without Charles last year, and based on how the offense has looked in the preseason would be just fine without him this year as well.
