fucking 9 wins, with 7 losses to:
+ The Texans, who we spanked by 30 in the playoffs
+ The Steelers, who are banged up. Still a tough game, though.
+ The Raiders, who we face after a BYE week, where Reid has like a 90+% win rate
+ The Colts, who were fucking terrible last year and have a weak defense.
+ The Panthers, Tough game.
+ The Broncos, who don't have a quarterback
+ The Falcons, not a great team, but potentially a tough game.

From the outside looking in,

The chiefs are without their best defensive player for the forsee able future and have a young unknown secondary, outside of Berry and peters.

I don't know what every is talking about.

The broncos won THE FUCKING SUPER BOWL with shitty QB play last year.

why is everyone declaring that as the reason for their downfall this year?

Denver's coaching staff is top notch and did what KC hasn't been able to do for decades ... win in the playoffs with poor QB play.

Why is this year any different?

That said ... 9-7 is a pussy call.

Most teams are around .500.

Fair enough, i don't know what is going to happen with them. I'm just seeing all these people declare Denver as a terrible team because 'they don't have a QB'

Nah, if Denver loses it will be because their defense isn't as good.

That and Trevor Siemian is not Peyton Manning. He's going to make way more mistakes and not have a grip on the offense like Manning did.

Stupid argument.

They won a record amount of game by 7 pts. or less. They could've just as easily not even made the playoffs if they started Brock all year. Peyton might've been trash statistically, but he still made necessary adjustments at the line, and got the ball out quickly.

After all of the losses in FA, it's completely reasonably to see them falling to 8-8 or worse. Semen is not going to be better in those close games than Peyton. It's just a fact.

A team with a shit QB is going to go .500 in the division at best. I'm also not confident that the defense will simply repeat what it did last year. It was excellent, but they got a lot timely turnovers. You can't count on that to happen year in and year out.

Timely is an interesting way to say that.

But, agreed - not every RB is going to cough it up in the closing minutes of a tie game. Just throwing that out there as the phrasing makes it sound as if the turnovers were predetermined.

The defense lost a couple of guys, sure, but the bulk of what made them great is still there.

I call a spade a spade. Weak argument.

Anybody that thinks Semen is better than Peyton, or even Brock, is out of their ****ing mind. Anybody that believes that everything can play out exactly the way it did last year is also. No way you win another record amount of games by 7 pts. or less. A few of those close games this year will be losses, and it will keep you away from double digit wins.

Denver's coaching staff is top notch and did what KC hasn't been able to do for decades ... win in the playoffs with poor QB play.

Why is this year any different?

Because every time a team has won a Superbowl with a shitty QB, it has come with an all world defense, and none of those teams ever repeated. Not saying it's impossible, but history tells us it's unlikely.
