View Full Version : Food and Drink -- How do you feel about RC Cola? *NFT*

Do you like the taste of RC cola? over Crushed ice? super-chilled? RC vanilla float, maybe?

I don't drink much soda - but I bought some to go with my taco-burgers, last night and It's pretty decent. It has been probably at least 12 yrs. since I'd had any.

- Retro RC TV Ad - (https://youtu.be/8Xg5dOO5o8A)

I'd recommend staying away from the 2-liters as I've noticed it doesn't hold it's fizz so well.

I've alerted Review Brah to do a video outlining his feelings regarding RC. Once he's agreed and posted - I'll be bumping this with his take.

Until then I'd like to hear what CP thinks of this Retro soda-pop.

I was wanting to try it out again - Mom said 1893 reminder her of RC. I will drink soda w/ Mexican style foods - but otherwise I usually only drink water. I did have a bad incident last week with a box of chocolate covered twinkies though. I've felt horrible about it all week, and literally prayed for forgiveness - So I get what you're saying.

I bought the 6-pack of the 20 ounce bottles - they came in about a buck cheaper than Pepsi or Coke.

looks like RC Cola international has their own answer to the Coca-Cola 'Life' version.

I like it as a change of pace from Coke. I can hardly drink Pepsi as it taste horrible.

Usually only drink ice tea(no sugar), ice water, coffee(black), (ice cold)beer and (ice cold)beer.

it was very bad and I'm ashamed. Basically plowed a box in one night - then went and bought another box (the night after) - Plowed two more and then ran the remaining 7 down the disposal. I behave and behave on my diet and then lash out! I just don't keep sweets here at all. That's the best thing for me.

Coochie - your observation of it being flatter than most - wasn't far-fetched at all. Just stay away from 2-liters and it'll be okay, fizz wise.

I'm not a big soda drinker, and not a fan of cola in general. As a kid I used to ask for 7UP or Sprite in restaurants. The only time I go for a cola specifically is when I add rum to it. I enjoy Sailor Jerry rum and cherry Coke. RC Cola never distinguished itself to me and I never bothered with it. I did buy a two liter bottle of it this last Summer because I was surprised to see it in a convenience store and I wanted to try it for old times' sake. I was unimpressed and gave it to a friend after one small drink.

I drink so little soda and NEVER drank an RC that can remember. The only few ones I like are Stewarts Root Beer, Boylans Creme Soda, and Stewarts Orange. On a rare occassion I'll drink a San Pellegrino grapefruit or blood orange. I drink less than 20 sodas for an entire year.

Also, RC is a very underrated soft drink. That's good stuff.

I like RC better than any other mass market cola. Chilled soda, over ice, in a glass. No straw.

Some of the artisan style colas are amazing. Like Fentman's and Fever Tree.

I actually had a bottle of that for the first time yesterday!! It's definitely good.

It does have a spice, but I can't find anything about it being from cayenne (not in the ingredients, can't find confirmation online). Seems to me it's just a strong "real" ginger kick.

for those complaining about soda going flat - there ARE handling guidelines that will help - for example don't OVERLY tighten the bottles - don't move them around a lot - also pour soda prior to adding the ice cubes.

Stop blaming these hard working bottlers for your poor handling decisions - start taking a little personal responsibility here!!
