Re-watching this game:

Seems to me the main problem with the defense was shitty tackling. The DL was getting pressure and guy's were getting hands on backs and receivers but not bringing them down. That is a correctable issue.

Peters was getting his shit pushed in and I don't like his body language one bit.

Alex was truly dogshit in the first half. He did the offensive line no favors in that first half. Taking sacks on those successive pass plays was inexcusable.

That turnaround for the Chiefs in the third quarter really is amazing. They were getting pushed around on both sides of the ball. San Diego was completely having their way with the Chiefs, and then the script flipped for both sides of the ball in the second half. They couldn't do dick on offense with us holding them to 6 points, and they couldn't stop us with their defense. I've never seen anything quite like it.

I'm more impressed with Smith than I was yesterday. He did most of his damage actually passing for once. He converted with his legs only when needed, which I think was only once. Did a great job of putting the ball into the hands of his playmakers.

KC was just not mentally ready on pass coverage. Christ.

The Woodhead TD to go up 18 points.. the Williams yuge catch and run to end the third quarter that put them into KC territory because of Gaines and Nelson(?) not knowing how to align when SD came out in a bunch to the left. That would have set up an easy TD to Benjamin on the play Berry drew an illegal contact penalty.

Smith's throw to Maclin was obviously nice to see. If he can shake his own checkdown tendencies and Reid cuts with the short game bullshit, there should be no reason the offense can't be counted on to gain 10+ yards on quick throws downfield.

Yuge gut check by the defense on SD's drive following the Santos FG to get within seven and good game management by Reid.

It will be bullshit if Addai isn't fined for that hit on Maclin. Also, in a post Dez-catch/no catch world, I feel like a ref crew might overturn that catch because he "only" caught the ball and took two steps before getting headshotted by Addai which caused the ball to wobble a bit in Maclin's hands. Looked like it wasn't totally covered by Maclin and might have touched the ground. I hate the NFL more often than I love them. Bullshit.

Anyway, yuge sack by the Piano Playing Passrusher using his speed and not giving up on the play.

I saw a bit in preseason of this, and I really hope it stops, but I think DJ's on his last season here. His career is clearly on the downswing, and if he continues to slow down due to age, he's going to have nothing left in the tank very shortly.

Poe just had a bad game all around. More and more I'm thinking he would be a good candidate to let walk this offseason if we had to save money somewhere.
