I was watching the game at McCoys in Westport. The celebration outside was amazing.

If Cubs win nobody will remember who won in 2015 ROFL

I was at a hotel in Overland Park with business partners. We drank until dawn, then headed for downtown.

When I came to KU, I figured I'd storm Mass after KU took the title, I would have never guessed it would be after the Royals won it all.

I will remember that day for the rest of my life. It was a dream come true in every sense of the phrase.

Then there aren't many "real champions".

Hell, according to this the Giants were never "real champions" since they never once defended their titles. Why would I, a lifelong KC sports fan, care about what Joe Random in Scottsdale thinks about my team's title? I don't watch the Royals because of their national prominence, nor for the reasoning of them bringing in cash. I watch them because of my love for baseball and KC, and I feel privileged to be able to have experienced 2014 and 2015.

Especially with the losers across the parking lot.

What a glorious day, you guys.

I'm wearing my championship sweatshirt and hat to celebrate...and mourn what could be the last day we reign.

I'll never forget it.

And I will forever be upset that titans like Desi Relaford, Chris George and Mike Wood didn't win it with us, but alas, they were playing under incompetent management. Thankfully Glass found a GM willing to take the necessary risks to win.

Thing was, he only took a couple risks. He built entirely from scratch with a farm system. Took eons too. His Shields, Zo and Cueto deals once he had his team in place were very ballsy moves that paid off in spades.

He should trade Hosmer and get going on the rebuild that will need to happen.

Yup, but those couple risks were what won us a title.

..and that analysis isn't entirely true. Moore also took risks in 2009 when he tried to assemble an offense around Greinke and Meche.

But to do that, he sacrificed the teams most reliable asset (its bullpen), and traded away stalwarts like Ramirez and Nunez for a leadoff hitter (Crisp) and a power hitter who couldn't hit it out of Kauffman (Mike Jacobs). The risks blew up in his face, and after that time he learned to take calculated risks that played into the dimensions of Kauffman Stadium.

I think he also got into analytics about that time - well not him so much, since he's a scout, but hiring a really good group of guys in his FO.

Fuck that. Hosmer is my favorite Royal and I want him to retire a Royal if at all possible. He still kicks ass and has years ahead of him. He is fun for the clubhouse and inspires all the players.

Nothing will compare with 2015, at least until my kids are able to experience something like it. As a Blackhawks fan since birth, 2013 and 2015 were cool, but nothing will compare to their 2010 run.

The fact that KC was able to avenge 2014 is almost too good to be true.

I remember most years champions actually. As do many people who actually follow baseball.
